The media could not be loaded. When this item arrived it didn’t work and we were very disappointed. But then I checked the batteries and each one tested “replace“ meaning they were dead. I went to Walgreens and bought new batteries for $13, but the bulb works perfect and will be perfect for my husband’s Uncle Fester costume. Before you send it back just check the batteries. I’m not sure what the ring inside the box is for because it doesn’t set off the lightbulb. You need to use foil even if you put it in your mouth!Update: the company reimbursed me the money for the batteries immediately! Great customer Service! We really love the bulb for our costume.

Ordered two new bulbs shipped by Treasure Gurus. Both arrived with scotch tape over the opening and packages looked a little worn. Both are supposed to work with a metal ring (so NOT compatible with an Uncle Fester costume). Neither one worked- tried different batteries and different metal rings and checked connections.

I was a tad hesitant about ordering this after some of the reviews, but bit the bullet and went ahead anyways since I needed a good prop for my Uncle Fester costume.It's a fairly simple set up; the base screws off and a few button batteries are inside. It comes with a metal ring, but this doesn't need to be used when used in the mouth (it's mostly for when using it in the hand). Now, it DID take a bit of getting used to. It does sort of feel like licking a 9V battery, but not as harsh. And making sure you can hold it with your lips while using your tongue to push against the back is actually pretty easy.WARNING: do NOT, I repeat, do NOT let this thing touch any of your fillings. I accidentally let it rest against one of my front molars with a filling and it felt like someone was shoving an icepick up into my skull.Other than THAT though, I straight up give it five stars.

We fiddled with this for 20 minutes before we realized the plastic ring at the base actually pulls out to reveal the battery compartment. There you will find the tiny paper tab to pull out, much like what you find in toys. Once you pull it out, push it back down into the lightbulb and put metal part back on. Touch metal ring on several spots until it lights up. Package did not come with additional batteries as advertised.

It looked cool as a prop. The light only sometimes works.

it works great but if yours doesn't work you probably just have to pull out the little battery tabs that are on the inside.

I bought this for my halloween costume. It's a piece of junk. The instructions are vague. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to work. Do not waste your money!!!!

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! This was a purchase over $30 and doesn't work at all. Save your money and don't bother. If I could give 0 stars I would.
