Exactly what I was looking for!
I bought this in an attempt to restore a badly pitted garden statue that was made of plaster, I think. Virtually the whole surface had to be smoothed before I could paint it. Since they intend to put it back outside I needed something rated as exterior (? What are they thinking? Plaster???) The exterior spackle was the perfect consistancy to spread over the pitted statue- even filled a rather large hole in the back! It sanded well and took the two layers of exterior primer. I'm now doing the actual detail work. We shall see if it holds up, but for now it seems sturdy- no chipping or flaking!

Smooths out nice, sands like a dream
I have been painting for 30 years and have tried many kinds of spackle. They should all be like this. It can be applied to a fine feather edge, is reasonably resistant to forming air pockets, can be sanded super smooth and is ok for either interior or exterior use.

Relatively easy to use
I liked the consistency of this, but did find it a little difficult to smooth out, thus the loss of one star. However, the proof of how this works is how it holds up in the elements as I was using it to repair some rotten areas of wood outside on porch posts. I won’t have any verdict on that for many months, so we shall see. I guess I would recommend trying it to anyone looking for patching and repair solutions as it isn’t all that expensive.

This stuff is awesome if you have an old house!
If you have an old house with no real insulation, this stuff is awesome for repairing cracks and holes in plaster. We bought an old 1924 home with mostly cosmetic repairs required, and even though this is designed for exterior repairs, it seems to expand and contract with this old house. When I tried it on my dining room about three years ago, it was like working magic. Our sagging back porch had been raised more than a foot (with the roof of the house) after I repaired that room, and the stress fractures in the plaster that I had seen before the raising did not return. All the other rooms where no repairs were done were looking worse for the wear.Since then I have sworn by this stuff in every room in my plaster-walled home. Every place I've patched with this paste is still looking great. Any place where I have had to resort to another type of plaster or spackle has ended up in a mess with cracks that needed more repairs after the fact. It even works well on the old sheet rock. I highly recommend this!

Great stuff
Great for outdoor applications. Easy to apply, shape and clean up. Takes a few days to fully dry but then quite paintable.

Good product ,late delivery
I really like this prodcut,I used outside on the fascia, and it went on easy, sanded it,primed it,and painted it;it looks great. The only reason that I gave it four stars, instead of five is because the product was delivered very late.

Good product under paint
I've used this stuff for years. When I was not able to find in locally in paint stores, I had to order it. This spackling paste can be spread with a putty knife on rough patches and knots to hide them if the wood is to be painted. I liked the four clips that held the lid on for shipping.

Great for filling nail holes and small cracks
Has a nice texture that goes on easily and sands quickly. Minimal shrinkage. Seems very durable, but I wouldn't use it to build up anything very large.
