HatakaModern Royal Air Force paint set vol. 1 # AS52

Good colour mix, represents its selected period / aircraft well.Paint bottles have a small "ball bearing" internally, helping paint mix with a shake. Goes on well and covers well.

These are the first acrylic paints I have used and so far I am impressed to say the least, the paint is specified as for airbrush use but I have so applied with a brush with great results (in my opinion anyway)

Normally I use Vallejo Air paints, which spray from the bottle, however for this Phantom FGR.2 there was no Vallejo paint I could find that matched the colour I wanted, hence here I am buying the Hataka set.Very impressed with the colours, exactly what I was looking for.Hataka seems thicker from the bottle than the Vallejo, and had to thin it maybe 20%, I used Vallejo thinner as that is all I had here, it thins the paint "ok" but it has a reaction with the Hataka paint I think, sprays ok but clogs up pretty quick still, tried different pressures and thickness of paint, not found the 100% sweet spot yet, I have read elsewhere the Hataka paint only thins properly with the Hataka Thinner, so just bought some of that as well, I would strongly suggest you invest into the correct Hataka Thinner if you plan to use their paints.Will be using Hataka again, but only for my RAF builds, as they are currently the best option I can find for the right colour sets.

These paints are exactly what I needed , they are the proper colours for modern RAF jets . And are reasonably priced for the set , good value . Good delivery

After spraying my kit with this paint once I removed the masking the paint under the masking tape came off. This is despite shaking for several minutes and mixing it with thinner so I could spray. Not impressed with this at all. I ended up re-spraying with Tamiya XF19 and didn't have any issues when the masking tape was removed.

Bought for my son , he's happy.

Fast delivery and very easy to use

I haven't yet had a chance to use this set, but so far, the acrylic paint set for modern RAF aircraft arrived in pretty good time, it certainly looks a good package of modern jet aircraft greys. The reviews of hataka paints has been very promising. This set does seem the best of options from late life Lightning to F4 phantoms to F3 and GR4 Tornado concluding with the modern Typhoon.
