Good car harness, keeps pup secure
We had a problem of the dog lunging from the backseat to the front at any given moment. She could do it after 10 seconds in the car or after 45 mins. This harness keeps her place and I think it makes her feel more secure: she’s not swaying about on turns or lurching forward if there’s a sudden stop. Definitely gives peace of mind knowing she can’t jump out of the car when we arrive at her favourite parks. The loop for the seatbelt is helpful to corral her from car until she’s on her leash. Definitely recommend.

Great product!
I use this harness when road tripping with my border collie, as she can get quite anxious while on long trips. I also want to make sure she is safe in the event of an accident. The crash-testing was a big deciding factor in choosing this brand. The harness arrived on time and after more than a year of frequent use I can say that it is quite durable and well made, it takes a beating on some of our hiking trips and hasn't frayed, broken or rusted in any way. Only complaint is that the measurements were a little bit off for my girl, in order to get a harness that would fit her chest properly I had to size up and sew the neckpiece down a size or two in order to make it snug. But otherwise a fantastic product that I would highly recommend to others.

Nice colour
I bought this to keep my dog safe. I have not been in an accident so I’m not sure if it works… gives me peace of mind though! The colour and material is nice. I bought the red one for my dog.I didn’t appreciate how confusing it was to put it on him. The harness is not like other harnesses. You have to do the buckle a certain way or it won’t go in. It’s really annoying. One side is done one way and the other side is different to get the buckle in. I had to watch the video on Kurgo website 5 times to get it. Even that didn’t completely help! I had trouble making it tighter too. It’s easy once you figure it out, but when you don’t know at first it can be tricky. The seat belt is the same thing! I didn’t know where to clip it on or where to put the seat belt through.Pros:It seems sturdy the harness.Beautiful colour. If it works all the fuss would be worth it.I would purchase again because I have more peace of mind about my dogs safety. I hope if Kurgo makes more of these products they’ll be easier to use!!! If another company made the same thing , it worked AND it was easier to use I would buy from that company to be honest! It was really annoying and time consuming to learn how to use it.It took me an hour at least. But it’s worth it for peace of mind.

These are great!
This harness is terrific. I wanted a way to securely and comfortable take our 3 dogs on trips both long and short and this does so very well. It took a little bit of practice to get used to how the metal clips inter-connect but the dogs never had any trouble - just the people lol.All 3 of our dogs have worn these for trips that exceed 9 hours with no problem at all. I bought these in combination with stretchy tethers that go into the seatbelt connectors and the dogs are able to move safely and freely around on the back seat. The harness itself is flexible, well constructed and appears to be very strong. It is also easy to use the top clip to take them on walks when travelling. We feel much better having the fur family members safely in the car with us now.

Multiple sizes, multiple dogs - my assessment
I have 2 dogs - big (53 pound pitbull) and little dog (15 pounds beagle mix). I have ordered several sizes for both as they are "between" the size and weight sizings on the manufacturer's chart. Here is what happened.BIG DOG: This is a very substantial, strong harness. I have tried out quite a few now and none of them come close to what I perceive as the strength and durability of this one. It has metal clasps instead of plastic, which if you have a strong escape artist such as I do, who has broken the plastic buckles on previous harnesses in her successful attempts to free herself, I believe she will not be able to escape this harness. My theory is untested as I just got the harness, and I will update this aspect later after testing. For my bigger dog sizing: the pitbull is between a medium and a large. The LARGE: I feel its too loose in the neck - even with it adjusted to its smallest setting for the neck. And then for the girth I can adjust it as needed. For the MEDIUM: I can adjust the neck properly, but the girth is too tight for her. I have decided to keep the large and I will sew the neck area to my adjustments. I am happy with this solution. I do not plan to use this harness as a walking, no-pull harness as I already have a favorite for this (but it has plastic buckles and she breaks the buckles and escapes in the car with that one on, even if left for only 5-10 minutes). For my smaller dog: For the smaller dog I decided that as great as this harness is, that its superior build and quality do make it a bit heavier and I felt that I do not need that level of heaviness and I will be using a lighter weight harness.I have found that in all the harnesses I have tried lately, for both dogs, that both my dogs seem to be between sizes where if I order a smaller size - the neck size is good, but the girth is too small, and the larger size fits the girth but then I cannot adjust the neck to be small enough. This is across multiple sizes and brands. I think it just it what it is, and the best solution for me will be to buy the bigger size and then if necessary sew (or have a professional sew) it to what I really need.Bottom line: this is a FANTASTIC harness and for riding in the car I highly recommend it.

Works well with rear clip. Twists with from clip.
We bought this primarily for use in the car. We use a middle head rest attached safety strap attached to the back clip on this harness. That allows our dog (a Lab-Rottweiler about 70 lbs) to stand and lie down with no danger of entangling his legs in a leash that’s attached to the car seat tethers or seatbelts. For this purpose it works well.As a walking harness it is not great. If you use the front clip, the harness will twist every time your dog pulls.Lastly - to get over your dog’s head, you need to loosen the neck straps then retighten once the harness is on. It would be more convenient to have a detachable clip on on side of the neck straps to make it easier to put on.
