Expensive but of some use for advanced PLC designers
The book is good, and will save an advanced PLC designer some time over the AB manuals, but it is hard to justify the cost for a book this thin. I had no problem absorbing the information because I have extensive Ladder experience and C, VB, OS programming experience. If you are an advanced programmer, and looking for quick answers, this is fair investment. If you have the time, skip the book and read the manuals.

Same material as in the author's previous book
If you already own Programmable Logic Controllers with ControlLogix by Jon Stenerson you already own the material in this book. I bought this and had to return after I realized that rather than go further in depth with the IEC 61131 languages, the content was taken directly from his more comprehensive book. The material isn't bad, but you are better off spending the money on the complete version than paying this much for the "Quick Start".

good introduction
This is a good introduction to controllogix. It goes from starting a new Project, talk about shared data and explain alternative languages.

All covered in authors other book
Most of this book is already covered in "Programmable Logic Controllers with ControlLogix". So, I would advise buying that book instead, although it is quite expensive.
