"What Is It?" Reusable White Appetizer or Dessert Plate, 6 Inch Melamine, Set of 4

These are a trip. They are not thin like paper; they are like 2.5 mm thick. Not an issue. The weight is nice too. These look and feels just like paper plates. I don't treat them any differently than my normal dinner wear. I put them in the dishwasher all the time. They have been subject to all sorts of stuff that I thought would stain them and they come out of the dish washer like new. I have used them against the manufactures warning briefly in the microwave. People in my house always grab real paper plates. I can put the real paper plates under everything else and they will dig them out. Then they take the plates to the living room and they collapse and complain that their food is on the floor. They complain I buy cheap paper plates. Then I have to clean the carpet. I do buy cheap paper plates. I am not going to pay 12 cents apiece for paper plates. I get 600 plates for $15 at Costco when I did. This has mentally screwed them up. They now use these over paper plates!

I bought these 6" melamine dessert plates to complete a set of 9" melamine dinner plates and 6" melamine soup bowls. I haven't used them yet but they seem to be very well made but on the small side. The dinner plates, dessert plates and bowls are all very small and won't hold much. They should all be an inch or two larger. Other than that they look just like a real paper plate except for their thickness. From what I have read from other peoples reviews the plates seem to perform very well. So here's hoping.

These plates look like a real paper plate but cleans up spotless in or out of the dishwasher. Durable, fun, easy to clean & makes people laugh. The best size is the 71/2 inch plate but so hard to find. The 6 inch is good for appetizers or dessert.

These are weird, They are reusable plates. They look like paper plates that feel like a cross between ceramic and plastic hybrid. I only gave it 4 stars because is says not microwavable. Everything is microwavable why not this?

I hand wash these based on reviews. I have served foods I thought would stain them, but they always wash up perfectly even if left sitting for a while. I bought these to use on the boat, and am very please because they don't fly away in the breeze! I just stack them in a bag on the boat when done and don't wash until we return so I am really happy that they wash well. I do NOT think they should be washed in the dishwasher! They are small - so pay attention to what 6 inches really is. (smirk)

Love these cheeky little plates. Look just like classic paper plates until you pick one up. Real conversation starter!

These don't feel or look pretty as they don't have the usual polished finish of melamine.

I wanted to use in microwave and I did!!! I have to melt cheese to hide my cat's pills and I microwave the plates with cheese about 30 SECONDS and the plates are doing fine. I have used all 4 plates in the microwave with no problems. I don't know if they will hold up to longer periods in the microwave oven. They are just the right size for "cat plates" and for small snacks for you. I don't have a dishwasher but they act as "regular" plates when I wash them with my other dishes. Would probably be great for plates for small children's meals or snacks. Highly recommend them.
