Okay, so here we go, like the song says “The good, thanks bad and the ugly.”First of all, if you have any kind of problems at all, forget it! They laughingly state that they provide email and telephone support. Forget it! No one answers the phone except voice mail and they never return the call. Same thing with email. You will have spiderwebs on your phone by the time you receive a return email. If product support is important to you, this is the wrong company!Actually from what I understand the X1 cameras are no longer manufactured and they are selling off their inventory. The camera is fair but as an engineer and technology writer I can attest to the fact that these cameras have geometric distortion where straight lines look curved. The night pics are decent but not great These camera head is capable of panning left or right but will not tilt up or down. I found that periodically, the cameras all lose their wifi signals periodically which is very annoying. The camera setup is voice assist but doesn’t really help. I find after you set it up the app leaves you hanging and there is no instruction on how to proceed. The camera head is prone to damage and if you turn the head manually as opposed as to using the app, your camera can be fatally damaged.I could go on and on, but I’m attempting to think of anything else positive and I can’t think of anythingTo sum it up, the cameras are not bad but if you are expecting product support, forget it. Look for another manufacturer.

Bosma X1 devices DO NOT upload of video events to the cloud (aka Bosma Assist)
We have multiple Bosma devices (Sentry, X1, EX Pro, XC) and all have been working great for the most part (sans the periodic “Playback failed. Unknown error (-860209)” - oh hey, was that the one intruder video event that I really needed captured?)But was quite disappointed after ordering a few indoor X1 Security Camera devices and (after the return period had expired) finding out from Bosma Support that the X1 CANNOT upload its video events to the Bosma Assist cloud server (and Bosma has NO PLAN to add that feature to the X1 firmware - Hello Bosma?). A loud alarm? - wrap it in a towel and stuff it in a bag.Bosma Support said:“For indoor camera with Bosma Assist - currently we have no road map for future releases. I would suggest to join our mailing list for up to date news. Thank you for your questions and time.”“You're absolutely correct in regards to the X1, As of right now only products that are compatible with the Bosma Assist are : Ex, Ex Pro, and Sentry doorbell. With future products they will be compatible and be able to integrate better with the Bosma Ecosystem. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you for your time.”Ok, so how can you call something an indoor “Security Camera”, yet someone can break into your house and grab the X1 (with SD card) that is recording them and there is NO RECORD stored on the cloud of that occurring. I don’t get it. Sure you can try to hide it from view, but really how reliable is that?)Come on Bosma, invest in firmware dev on your “legacy” products so you can truly call the X1 an “indoor security camera”.I will say that for our use cases, the Bosma devices have mostly been working well. Front door Sentry unit works great and we are even using a couple EX Pro devices as backyard “wildlife” cameras, which have been quite informative and entertaining. But an “indoor” security camera that only does internal SD card recording, yet is incapable of upload those video events to the cloud should NOT be called a “Security Camera”.

I finally decided upon a negative review
I have to say this is a beautiful camera. I also have to say that I really had a good experience with one of their tech reps. In fact in the beginning of my ownership it was ONLY that positive experience with that rep that stopped me from immediately returning the product. I have a very frustrating first couple of weeks of ownership. I really wanted to support this product and company because I must also admit that their reps do try and are polite to deal with. However this camera is about security which means it needs to work wellI can see why there are two horrible reviews already posted about this product. Now I will also admit that since the time I purchased this product back in June several things have improved both in their website which in June had no installation help at all or any kind of posted help/videos. Also I had a terrible problem with their app NOT allowing me to see video consistently with a constant can't fetch video error message which seems to have resolved with recent firmware updates.I agree with the person who gave this 1 star in that the APP IS TERRIBLE and there is little control over how alerts/notifications come to you. Also the App kills my battery life on my iPhone 6 I also agree with the comment that the alarm only rings 4 times: future software should allow for an owner to at least double that to 8 times.HOWEVER ToDAY what threw me over the edge about this product finally resulting in a negative review is that all of a sudden today my systems NO LONGER SENDS ME "MOTION DETECTED" ALERTS even though I can see the camera is noticing me walking in front of it (as watching live video in away mode". I still do get my 'SOUND DETECTED' alerts. HOWEVER day to day I don't know what is next with this product - I don't feel I can rely on this product. From day one the sound detected and the motion detected alerts worked seamlessly and perfectly. NOW no motion detected. REALLY? I especially want to know if there is motion in my home.I would love to "update" this review with a reason why suddenly I don't get "motion detected" alerts AND YES the "motion detected" option is set to ON in my settings also set to sensitive (I have no pets in the house)Again I hope I can update this negative review. I certainly was a patient customer due to their responsive team so I never posted a negative review but today I am just frustratedUPDATE: okay I am so torn because it so very important to me to give credit where credit is due. After finally doing two more resets and MORE importantly uninstalling and reinstalling the app I am once again getting "movement updates". I want to support this product so badly. The camera is beautiful but like the two very negative reviews already written about this product I want to be able feel secure about the security provided with this product.
