OM efin G! I have been hating the shaving process for about 40 years. Bought this kit and finally figured out the right way to shave. Now I'm looking for excuses to whip up a batch of lather to get "to lookin good". The soap has a pleasant sent (even my 18 year old daughter likes it) and makes an excellent lather. I really like the brush but since I just started this shave soap/brush shave routine, I don't' have much to compare it to. If you have been using the other shaving products (canned stuff), throw that stuff out, get this kit and enjoy shaving for a change.

The bowl retains heat fairly well, the soap that comes with it works great, in fact better than a cream that I bought outside of this. The brush is good. I feel it is rather on the small side but its my starter so I have no real reference for how big they are supposed to be. I have had several shaves with it now and the brush looks like it did the day I got it. Have not seen a single strand come out of it so it seems to be very well built.

I purchased this and a Gillette style razor set for each of my sons. I wanted them to experience the "art of shaving" They both like the sets, the soap last forever and creates a very nice foam for shaving. It smells good too... Very ManlyI have been using this set for a long time and also help my girlfriend shave her legs with the rich lather too. She loves it when I am on my knees.........

The handle on the cup broke off. Actually twice. The first time the cup was delivered the handle was broken off. It took about two months of use for the handle to break on the replacement. It's clearly not designed well; too thin at the base for the heavy cup. (I'm still using it as the handle is not necessary). Meanwhile, the shaving brush continues to lose bristles. Fewer now but lost a lot for the first two months. The soap itself is very nice: makes a good lather, gentle on the skin, lasts a long time. I bought more of that but I'd advise trying another brand cup and brush.

I received this in lightning fast speed. Works really well, I would recommend this for any man who shaves. Really great package - comes with most tools of the trade - mug, soap which conveniently fits inside the mug, badger fur, very comfortable, excellent alternative to cartridges, which I wouldn't recommend for anybody.

Good price for this set, got this for my "first time shaving" son and he loves it.

I bought this on a whim. My father used this and I used to watch him. It works well, lasts a long time. It is thinner than foam so it runs a bit, lean over the sink. Other than that it works fine.

I was visiting a friend and he let me use his wet shaving products and I loved the scent, the lather and the shave itself. The GBS products did not smell as well. The lather seemed less, and some of the hairs came off the brush and were left on the soap. Since I have not wet shaved before I an reluctant to give the GBS products a low score, but I liked whatever brand my friend uses much more.
