Ordered for 2nd degree burn, put on open flesh
My mother sustained second degree burn from spilling coffee on her thigh. She burned her skin off on an area that was 8" x 6". By day 3, her legs look like a bloody raw piece of meat. Her hospice nurse brought over the McKesson hydrogel sheets to put directly onto the open wound to keep her flesh moist while allowing the skin to repair itself. The nurse used a sterile wound care spray which stung, then follow through with a sterile saline rinse, followed by these hydrogel sheets, sterile non-stick gauze pads, sterile retention tape, then a roll of sterile gauze. Incidentally I didn't know which side goes directly on the wound. The blue side goes directly on the wound. According to our nurse, you do peel off the clear side from the hydrogel sheets. Our nurse used to work in ER so I assume that she does know what she's talking about. To get a these hydrogel sheets off or the retention tape, the nurse said to use the saline rinse to soak the tape or to soak the gauze pads and/or the hydrogel sheets. We gave her Tylenol for the pain but it's these hydrogel sheets that really helped the most. We changed out her dressing everyday and by week 3 her skin was finally repairing itself. I wasn't sure that the hospice was going to have enough supplies so I ordered these off of Amazon which is the same brand that the hospice was using. I did end up having to use one box of my own. I highly recommend this product. We also bought via Amazon and used with the hydrogel sheets: MED PRIDE Sterile Nonstick Pads for Wound Care, Absorbent Non-Adherent, Painless Removal, Individually Wrapped (3x8 Inch (Pack of 50)), Areza Medical Surgical Tape.

this item was ordered for a bad wound on my arm. This product kept wound moist so that healing would take place and without infection developing. It was recommended by my dermatologist.

Excellent Hydrogel Sheets from well known US medical manufacturer
I considered other hydrogel sheets due to more competitive pricing, but settled on using the product of a well known US manufacturer for a therapeutic application. These sheets have worked well thus far without incident for the medical application and as such, I recommend them. They come individually packaged in 10 sealed packets and can be cut down to application size for your particular needs. Well done McKesson!

not what I expected.
The item arrived in damaged packaging, and it appears to be a pre-owned or resold product from a previous owner. As a medical product, it lacked any paperwork detailing its active components or usage instructions. The overall presentation seems unprofessional, and I do not feel comfortable using it for my family.

Great Product.
The product is easy to use. It worked perfect for my burn that I got from my oven rack.

Disappointed
Due to some 2nd degree burns over a large area, I've tried multiple hydrogel pads and these aren't great. I needed to order some larger pads to hold me over until my prescription order arrived. These are difficult to use (very thin, flimsy hydrogel with double-sided backing that needs to be removed which is tricky) and they dry out resulting in them not maintaining a moist healing environment (their purpose), but then they stick badly to the wounds. You need to soak the wound for several minutes to release the pad(s). McKesson products are usually great so this is a huge disappointment. Hydrogel pads aren't cheap, so the pricing is actually quite good, especially considering the 4" x 4" size. UPDATE: Wound care nurse said the directions on the box are incorrect. You DO NOT peel away the second backing once the hydrogel gel pad is placed.
