Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick, 001

My every day lip color for over a year! Such a flattering shade! I was surprised by how long this lipstick lasts throughout the day. I get asked about my lipstick all the time, and people are so shocked when I tell them it’s Rimmel. I also wear their blush on a daily basis.

This lipstick feels so nice and creamy . Shade 41, while a beautiful nude, just didn't suit my super fair, neutral toned skin. It has a bit of a pretty pink hue but has a pasty look on me. It's lighter than my natural lip color and makes me look sick. I'm going to use it on top of my darker matte lipsticks to make them lighter and more creamy. I think this would look beautiful on most skin tones just not the fairest of the fair.

I'm super picky about my lipsticks. Since they're so close to my nose (duh ;) ), I find myself avoiding any that smell perfumey, waxy, or even (so oddly) kind of rancid. The color of this lipstick is absolutely stunning - a neutral mauve / rose / brown - and the texture is nice and creamy. Time will tell if I end up loving it or not, but already I'm finding the scent off-putting and gravitating toward other lipsticks with less offensive smells. It's possible that this one just sat around in a warehouse too long, but whatever it is, it's not a smell I want to experience for very long or very often. Given that I wanted this to be my new everyday go-to lipstick, that's really disappointing and for that I give it only 4 stars. (I thought about giving it only 3, but only the smell is an issue for me.)

After months of searching, finally found the PERFECT nude!! Not orangey, not too pink, not drying. A little hint of pink makes this shade look natural, but not "pinkey." Product isn't drying, leaves lips moisturized

The quality of this lipstick is great; definitely one of the better drugstore formulations I have tried. But I just wanted to leave a review bc I found the color on 001 to be really different than I expected. In reviews online, it looked like almost like a deep red, and I read many reviews that described it as "bright" and a "blue red." It is not! No, this is a warm red for sure. I compared it to Mac Ruby Woo and Armani 400 (I use both luxury and drugstore lip colors) and this is a warm, almost even kind of rusty red. It's nicely pigmented, but I wouldn't call it "bright" either. I'm not sure that this really does anything for my warm olive skintone. I also got 107, and I like that one much better (it's darker and has a better scent). The scent on 001 is fruity, but quite mild. I dislike strong fragrances, and I wouldn't have minded wearing this one.

I have been buying Rimmel lipstick for several years, but always try to buy a true Coral close to a 'ginger or orange'...not the RED Lasting Finish 001 in a black tube. I have to apply carefully with a light hand so I don't drown in red, which is very strong but I admit is a beautiful red. At age 75 (but not an 'old' 75) bright red is just a bit much, lol. My husband likes it, so I'll try it from time to time since the Coral color (in a red tube) seems to be discontinued. I apply the color, blot lightly and pat with a finger, then I apply a light coat of a balm or similar color moisturizing lipstick...just my preference.

I ordered this lipstick to wear in a wedding with a navy dress. I was looking for a really light nude color with a peach tint. I was really pleased with the results. At first when I opened it I was scared it was going to be too dark looking at it in the tube. However, when I applied it, I thought it was actually lighter. Hopefully, the pics will help explain what I mean and give you an idea of color.Overall though, I am really pleased! .

This lipstick is incredible! I can’t believe I have not tried it until now. It’s so smooth, it just glides over your lips and feels so good. And the color is just a perfect nude, I ordered #45, and I will be picking up some other colors in this collection as well. I find myself putting it on during the day, even if I’m not going anywhere, just because it feels so nice on. I’ve been raving about it to my mom, and she ordered one too. I would never have guessed this was a drugstore lipstick if it didn’t have a label on it. Ladies, it’s just that good. Rimmel’s website has better pictures of the colors, that’s what I used to select the color I wanted to try.*Tl;dr- fabulous lipstick, feels amazing on and beautiful color #45. The perfect lipstick.

I bought and received 08 which was described as being Dusky Rose. It’s not! It’s a chestnut brown colour.It’s a lovely colour but a disappointment as I wanted a Dusky Rose lipstick!It does not say anywhere on the lipstick that it is a Dusky Rose but when you look at the lipstick in the tube it does indeed look like it will be a mauvey Rose colour.But when applied it is most definitely a Chestnut colour and there are no pink tones whatsoever.It is highly pigmented and gives a smooth satin finish.It really is a beautiful lipstick just not the shade that I had hoped it would be!

My wife says, Although it wouldn't be, the usual colour she'd buy herself, she's glad that I bought her it!You likes it's coverage, and longevity and will now, in the future consider different shades.She thinks, it a good lipstick and she would recommend it, to her friends and to anyone, whom fancies a change, from the usual reds and darker shades, of lipstick.

I ordered number 08 expecting it to be a darker reddish Heather like colour, as shown in the picture. It certainly is not a dusky rose colour either, as described in the answer to one of the above questions. It is more of an earthy brown colour. Actually it turns out that the colour looks lovely when it is worn, but still, it would be nice if the description/picture was more like what it actually looks like in real life. It lasts as long as most lipsticks do. I had to reapply during the day, but show me a lipstick that you don't have to reapply during a full day! So I was perfectly happy with that. Packaging wise, the lipstick was just loose in the amazon delivery box along with some other items I had ordered. Other than the actual lipstick casing, there was no extra packaging, not even a bit of sellophane or a little plastic bag to protect it a bit, which was a little bit surprising. Luckily the casing lid had stayed on during transit, but with no plastic around it to seal it, it could easily have come off, and the lipstick could have easily been ruined. From a hygiene point of view, especially during the current pandemic, it would have also been preferable if it was sealed with plastic wrapping. It did arrive quickly which was good.

Over the years I have purchased this brand when trying to make my more expensive brand stretch a little further and alternate. I normally use Asia but seen this colour 'Rose Nude' and in the image it was quite near to the colour of my favourite brand I use...unfortunately when it came, I was disappointed in that it is much lighter than the image showed. It is still a lovely creamy lipstick but it is just the colour let me down...I would have been very very happy if it were the same as the image...but instead I am just happy with the colour but more than happy with the brand and will next time stick to the colour Asia as it is lovely.

First of all it arrived with no protective seal on it and clear signs of manufacturing fault in the lipstick itself. The packaging feels cheap and flimsy which I was not expecting as I have other colours by this brand and the packaging of them is fine. It does not say Kate on the lid like it should so im wondering if its even a real rimmel product. Its also very shimmery and has bits of glitter in it which I did not know as the pictures don't show that and there's no mention in the description of that for the nude rose colour. Im dissatisfied. The lack of a seal is the most frustrating thing for me as we are in the middle of a pandemic and I'm also a germophobe.
