Special Edition includes four bonus tracks. 2011 album from the British Pop icon and former vocalist for Culture Club, his first artist album in more than 10 years. Ordinary Alien is an accomplished collection of tracks featuring Boy George and Kinky Roland's faultless mod-pop production. As songwriters and all-round creative entities, Boy George and Kinky Roland have worked closely over the past 15 years and Ordinary Alien is born out of this relationship - the pair are renowned for their seemingly never-ending surplus of quality material. 16 tracks.

Another great album by a great soulful artist
While I tend not to like the more electronic/dance oriented albums, Boy's vocals are not to be missed. They draw you into his music deeper than you'd ever expect to go. And this cd with bonus songs, is a great way to get lost for about an hour. You really can't go wrong with Boy George. His music is great, and even when it gets a little too electronic for my tastes I find myself still listening as I have no desire to hit skip. Hopefully Boy George has made peace with some of his demons and can focus solely on his music, as it would be a great tragedy for anyone who loves great music (and soulful rock/pop) if he were to stop making albums. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who just loves good music. His vocals are still strong and his lyrics are still as personal as ever. I do not know if this album is a compilation of singles he put out or is an album of all original material, but I have not heard the songs on other albums so I am assuming if it's a compilation it's a compilation of music released through various outlets and put together as a singular product. Either way it's a great album to own.

The Boy still Rocks!!!
Boy George is a living legend, a musical genius. His splendid voice combined with 12 energetic dancy tunes makes this an excellent highly recommended purchase for all Boy George fans. I haven't heard anything from the Boy since his Culture Club days but, was captivated by the musical quality of the CD. I see nothing has changed he is still as talented as ever. Glad I made the purchase.

If you are a fan of Boy George, it is worth the money
I bought the cd as I am a huge fan of Boy George. I like the track Amazing Grace and Yes We Can. I see Boy George's music on You Tube and a few other places, and i-tunes, but it is nice to have these tracks on one cd. It was worth the listen and the effort too. I look forward a new Culture Club soon.

Extra-"Ordinary"!
Boy George is a living legend. As such, he rarely gets the accolades a legend should-- legends being only esteemed after they've gone. George has survived decades of highs and lows, heartbreak and scandal and is still standing. Proving survival becomes a legend most, George defiantly follows the beat of his own drummer and that beat is as infectious as ever. This is without doubt a "dance" album but it is dance music with intelligence and meaning. George uplifts the spirit with his wonderful "Amazing Grace" and indeed, all the tracks are a tribute to positivity and overcoming all odds. "Turn 2 Dust" ponders the futility of hatred, "Yes We Can" tells us we can move forward despite all the negativity holding us back, and "Brand New" (my personal favorite) says that even chameleons who've taken a wrong turn can recreate their wondrousness. It's never too late to start anew. "Ordinary Alien" is comprised of many older songs from George but seeing as how so many have been unfairly ignored, it is important that they be given a fresh airing on a higher profile release. George's lyrics are as sharp and honest as ever and his voice is in fine form, too-- now more than ever he sounds like the male Billie Holiday. Time may have narrowed his range but has increased his power as a vocalist who unerringly captures a gorgeous mood. Boy George is back-- long may he charm, disarm, and alarm us!

Boy George the DJ/Mixer
If you are looking for the dance rhythems and kinky's mixing and the DJ beats, this album is definitely for you. However, if you're like and like Boy George voice and singing, you won't hear it much on this album. It seems that he's not into it lately.

I love Boy George
And I always have. Everything he does is spot-on. He knows his music. My favorite sonf is Turn to Dust, but they are all excellent...especially for working out. This CD is full of great dance songs. The remixes are excellent as well.

The Boy is Back!
While Ordinary Alien tends to be light on lyrics in spots, you can't help but love the positive beat that runs throughout. As for my favorites, the reworked "Human Racing" is a nice touch, and I have to say that I absolutely am in love with the amped-up "Time Machine." Way to go Boy! Let's not keep your long-time fans waiting so long next time, eh?

Boy George is definitely not an "Ordinary Alien" and he proves it with CD!
Let me start by saying that Boy George is a genius! Those of you who have followed Boy George's career will most certainly agree that he has done some of his best work since Culture Club split. His collaborations with Dark Globe, Hi-Gate and DJ Yoda are prime examples of this. He truly is a renaissance man, he really is. Aside from the pop music he is know for with Culture Club, Boy George is equally capable of producing Rock & Dance music with great success. Here on "Ordinary Alien" it's all about electro-dance with a little Ragga/Reggae thrown in. Collaborating with Kinky Roland, as he has in the past, you get a collection of some great tracks. Boy George hasn't stopped producing great music since Culture Club, without any real commercial success. But his true fans will follow him to the grave for his pure smoky vocals and poetic lyrics of love, loss & heartache. This is primarily a dance album (no ballads here) but dance music with George's unique cheeky lyrics with depth. Boy George is definitely not an "Ordinary Alien" and he proves it with CD! The special 2CD Edition does feature a few extra tracks the Standard Edition didn't have including an amazing dance version of "Out Of Fashion" which was originally a ballad he recorded with Hi-Gate on their CD "Split Personality". A version was also featured on Boy George's CD "You Can Never Be Too Straight" (as a hidden track) and was reinvented in his musical "Taboo". He won't necessarily gain new fans with this CD but he'll certainly satisfy his die hard fans, not to mention some high profile club DJ's.

Geiler Stil...!!!
