My favorite thing I've ever bought. Ever
The best thing to happen to vascular access. I use this almost daily at my job. For lab draws and IV starts, I can almost always find something AND get it on the first try. I can't take all the credit, this thing is amazing. I love that I can decrease the amount of pain a baby experiences by enlisting the help of such a useful and effective tool. Good on ya venoscope.

Very useful.
I love this product. Comes in super handy for difficult IV access and central line placements in small infants. Also can be used as a quick transilluminator for chest in a pinch. Very sturdy. Only difficulty I have found is to keep it from growing legs and walking away when other people want to borrow it!

Not useful beyond +/- 27 weeks gestation
Only useable on very premature infants. Not useful beyond +/- 27 weeks gestation. Not strong enough to penetrate much fatty tissue. I wish I had returned it but didn't get a chance to use it until it was too late. A big waste of money.

It's amazing!
This venoscope is so much better than the prong model. It has a great ability illuminate through an infant's arm as well as a small adult hand. Really improves all chances on all colors of skin and adipose tissue! I really love this piece of equipment .

Best vein finder on market!
I work as a neo/peds flight nurse. Have started many, many IV's with the help of this device. Wish it was a little cheaper but I will tell you it is definitely handy. So much so our team has adopted it for difficult IV starts. Much prefer this device as to the bulky wee sight or the overhead Christie. The fiberoptic transluminator works ok but the light from this device allow you to see the veins much better. The small LED head works way better in allowing you to manipulate the child's hand or foot, illuminating the veins from underneath. Now I will tell you that every child is different and adipose tissue can affect visualization so with that being said, the hardest IV's to start will be in the 5 month to 15 month age group due to a larger amount of subcutaneous fat. This age group will be difficult no matter what device you use. However, I have found that manipulating the light a bit under the palms or feet can definitely help. It just take a little patience but this device can definitely still help in this age group. My only two gripes with this vein finder is that the batteries need to be rotated out about every 2 months ( not because of drain but because of phosphorus buildup) and the device can be finicky after changing the batteries (that have been in for longer than 2 months). This is often solved by opening the case and adjusting the angle of the battery. However, to be fair, our devices see heavy use.

works great.
very effective. our unit has been using these for 5 years now. we are apparently ruff on them because we buy 10 a year. the cables like to pull out of the unit or light. biomed use to fix them for us but now refuse to. the newer style has the cord disconnect from the main unit with a headphone plug. wish the lights had a single unit clear cover or epoxy embedded (hard to clean blood out of.) we now place the light in a white glove to keep it clean. very expensive for what it is made of, but glad it is available.
