Sony Playstation 3 160GB System (Renewed)

So far, so good. To address a few of the horror reviews, I’m not sure what went wrong with your order. Mine came with an actual ps3 controller. I bought this ps3 for one reason. Well two. First and foremost was to get my old ps3 library back as I have been without a ps3 for over 10 years now. I had a lot of gems on there. The second reason is I need to play Xenogears and this is one of the more authentic ways to play it if you don’t feel like fighting with emulators and rounding up a ps1 copy. I’m happy that I had the good luck to get a good system and accomplish my mission here. Thank you item bazaar.

I wanted to give the Amazon Renewed program a chance for a big purchase like a PS3, but this purchase was a complete headache from the moment I unboxed it. First, the HDMI cord included in the packaging was completely dead and didn't transmit any signal at all. Figuring it might just be a bad cable, I hooked the console up using my own personal, HDMI cord. The console finally displayed a picture, but the entire screen had a persistent green tint that was impossible to get rid of through any display or TV settings. Thinking it might be an issue with the HDMI port on the console, I tried using an AV multi-out to HDMI converter that I use for my PS2. Not only did the green tint remain, but now the display was completely ruined by green lines in columns all over the screen. To top it all off, the console itself has a serious power defect. When trying to shut it down normally, it freezes up and refuses to power off—the only way to turn the system off is to physically yank the power cord out of the wall. Refurbished should mean tested and working. This unit clearly missed any kind of quality control check. Returning this immediately. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Okay so normally I would never buy anything electronic such as computers, laptops, game consoles, or TVs renewed or refurbished due to previously negative experiences. But I had to buy this in a pinch for a Christmas gift, because nobody is selling these anymore, naturally I went on Amazon found this and crossed my fingers. It’s literally just like brand new!! Very surprised and pleased!! Online capabilities work, WiFi, the store accepts dvds game discs, etc. usb ports are perfect. Absolutely nothing wrong with it minus a very few cosmetic flaws but I could care less. Playing this everyday almost for hours since then. Still have yet to experience any issues, fair price. Could’ve been a tad bit lower. Overall 100% satisfied. By the way, you’re going to want a replacement controller instead of the one provided. It’s not exactly built for long term use mine stopped working and taking a charge.

As described the PS3 is used or as Amazon prefers to say: renewed. It means that the product is not mint and scratches, faults and errors may occur. Mine came being able to turn on but could not turn on after turning off suddenly and would continue turning off after the beep. I put my hand on the console to see if it was too hot and it was. I figured the thermal paste might have needed to be replaced and lo and behold when I opened the console the thermal paste was all but vaporized. I cleaned off the remaining paste, put new thermal paste in, swapped out the C-MOS battery while I was at it and put it back together. It has functioned flawlessly since. Graphics look as they should and as I remember them from more than 10 years ago after I last played on the PS3. The PSN Store is closed but there is still an extensive library of games with physical blu-ray discs. The console still feels fresh and strong despite being 20 years old, which speaks to the quality of the PS3. I can recommend it but be prepared to either have a home project to make it functional or to ask for a replacement.

The system worked very well I did not have any troubles with it it plays all my PS3 games on my discs are working in it I'm very happy with this item

Notablemente maltratada, con oxido, marcas de hongos y huevos de cucaracha. Conectores maltratados y llenos de polvo, por si fuera poco incluia un control pirata y en mal estado.
