Purchased this product previously (5 months ago) to help regulate my glucose levels a bit and for neuropathy pain in my feet (the 'pin spikes'). I ordered it again recently.Pros: Overall, I'd say ALA is helpful. A few weeks after I started taking it I noticed that I have less of that spike-y pain in the feet than I used to. I haven't had an A1C since then, but when I check my glucose levels, the numbers seem the slightest bit better and I don't believe it's from diet since I haven't changed my diet. This is not to say that it absolutely helps with all neuropathy pain or that it lowers glucose levels in general - only that it seems to be working for me. I told my doctor I was taking Alpha Lipoic acid 2x/daily and she didn't have any objection. Knowing my doctor, I wouldn't say that she believes it will help, only that it probably won't make anything worse and doesn't conflict with any medications I am currently taking. Your doctor results may vary.Cons: Every now and then when you urinate you may catch the scent of burnt plastic skunk (best I can describe it). It is not a frequent problem and I can't figure out why it happens sometimes and not others, but it does happen for me occasionally. I have read another review on ALA which mentions this.The reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is not an issue of it's perceived effectiveness. I gave it 4 stars because when I ordered it 5 months ago, it had an expiration date of 10/20 which gave me 14 months to use it. I just recently purchased this product again months later and the expiration date is still the same, giving me about 9 months to use it. That's enough time for me to finish both bottles, but by reordering it months later, I expected a fresher product - especially since I paid almost $5 more for it this time than when I initially purchased it. I'm not sure this new batch will have the same effectiveness as the previous order since they've been sitting on a shelf for months. Product got older and the price went up? Not happy with this order for price and shelf life.

Doctor wanted me to take this to help ease Neuropathy but it was hard on my stomach. flavor was good and i thought it was easy to swallow these pills but i have not had any issues with taking medicine

Unlike the last bottle I bought this brans was actually 600mg per capsule, not 600mg per serving. A good choice to avoid taking 3 capsules at a time.
