Dr Trouble Lemon Chilli Sauce HOT 125 ml, Finest African Hot Sauce

I rate this chili sauce 5* (five stars).I have tried both Dr Trouble Hot Sauce Bottles mild and hot, and I like them equally.Both the mild and hot version is made with 70% lemon juice from fresh lemons, harvested locally in Zimbabwe. The lemon base is what makes this sauce really unique.Mild version: The mild version has the lemon juice more in front in the taste experience, and the African Bird's Eye chili kicks in afterwards and milder, and then you have the bolder, unique chili taste with herbs. The taste comes in three stages: Lemon, chili heat, and the bold unique taste.Hot version: The hot version has the lemon juice more in the background in the taste experience, and the African Bird's Eye chili kicks in immediately and stronger (and pleasantly strong), and then you have the bolder, unique chili taste with herbs. The taste comes in three stages: chili heat, lemon and the bold unique taste.It is not a gimmick when the producer is calling it "The 18-Year Single Malt of Chilli Sauce", because instead of filling up your whisky glasses with Scottish whisky, you are better off filling your vodka or whisky glass with this fantastic chili sauce. It is also a healthy non-alcoholic option with lots of vitamin C (lemon) and vitamin E (chili pulp).I buy the bigger 250 ml bottle, just much better value.You will finish the bottle within one week - it is too yummy to stay longer in the fridge!I will buy again.

I've tried a few times now one on chilli con carne and on some roast chicken and it does have a nice heat to it and it's good that you still feel the heat after you've finished but it's not a hot heat just spicy and i would like it to be a bit hotter, the big negative point is the price although it's very very tasty i can't justify the price for myself and that's just my opinion.

To be honest i didn't like it at all as was too tangy for my tastes so it ended up down the sinkBut the product itself was very high quality and reasonably pricedif your looking for a tangy hot sauce that is full of flavour and isnt going to blow your head off like the stupid challange sauces then this should be a regular in your fridgeI was disappointed in myself for not liking it as it is worth every penny!

A decent sauce, strong in flavour and not too much heat. It leaves a strong after taste, like the day after a curry I woke up thinking I could still smell it. Not sure its worth the price tag but it is a tasty sauce. I will say its unique in flavour to anything else I've had.

I put this sauce in a lot of foods it’s not the hottest chilli sauce but it does have an excellent layered flavour

It’s an interesting take but. To get the right safe PH level for sale you had to use sooo much lemon juice it’s just so acidic. 60> lemon juice. What are you doing . Way way more than vinegar. Not sure what dishes that would work with. It’s like acid. And very mild also for the price it will be gone in another 2 servings. Seems like an experiment gone wrong but sold it anyhoo. Different is an understatement. As some who has been making chilli Sauce for 10 years this is so out there. Could almost work for occasional dish but I really do not recommend it.

Addicted to this sauce. The best on the market. Lovely lemony hot chilli taste - goes with anything.

I've been looking forward to this, after seeing all the positive reviews. You know, chilli sauce with a lemon juice base, tangy spiciness, what could go wrong?Oh dear, what a letdown...I don't know if this is how this sauce is meant to taste but the bottle I received is totally overpowered by some spice(s?), can't really tell what it is but it completely drowns everything else out to a point where if it wasn't for the bit of heat you couldn't tell it's a chilli sauce, the lemon flavour is also hardly noticeable. It just tastes salty, almost bitter and generally awful. I don't know, maybe a I got a bad batch or something but flavour-wise a 1£ bottle of Encona sauce wipes the floor with this, and this costs £10 a bottle. Shocking.
