I have been using this shampoo for over 25 years, ordering it directly from the manufacturer. Although the manufacture doesn't advertise it as such, its' one of the few fragrance-free shampoos around and it also is not oil-based so it doesn't leave a residue. It's part of their several products system for helping stop thinning hair, but I use only the shampoo--I use another independent product, polysorbate 80, with the shampoo for further cleaning of the scalp and slowing hair loss. The company has come out with other products and other shampoo but I always use this original formula, which is fragrance-free.Several times a year it goes on sale at a reduced price--the biggest sale reduction is around Christmas. I usually order 12 to 20 bottles at a time during a sale.A few years ago I started using it in the shower as a body wash also because, unlike soap, it does not leave a residue, which in the underarm area prevents underarm odor for a longer period.Years ago there were a few more fragrance free shampoos; for example, Almay used to make one, but they discontinued it a long time ago.I find the smell of this shampoo to be minimal and much less of a chemical smell than the few other fragrance free shampoos around. (I believe this shampoo has been on the market a lot longer than Free and Clear shampoo, by the way.)The ingredients are:Purified water, Cocoamphocarboxy Glycinate, Alkamide LE, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Citric Acid, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, DMDM Hydantoin.Although this shampoo contains parabens, I do not believe these are a problem as they would be washed off with the shampoo and not left on the skin.Some others that claim to be fragrance-free often have flower extracts and aromatic oils in them which are just as bad as fragrance for people sensitive to such things.
