The Winning Solar Car: A Design Guide for Solar Race Car Teams

Great book. Although I am not an engineer, the formulas are helpful for understanding the concepts. Engineers may find the formulas very useful. Good insight from the author's years of building solar cars with students and seeing them try to make the same mistakes over and over. I would like to see the author update with 2009 solar car design information, photos, and more detailed drawings of his school's Solar Miner.

More than thorough. Dated tech on the batteries, but everything else is spot on. Recommend aerodynamic texts as well. This book talks about it, but not enough for me.

Author is concise, clear, and effectively integrates the necessary equations into the text. Equations are easy to understand, follow and verify.

I did not think that this is so complicated. Book is reliable. I learned a lot from it.I recommend to all.

ソーラーカーに関係した本は、これまでに数は少ないもののいろいろと出ていたが実践的なものは少なかった。著者はミズーリ・ローラ大チームのメンバーとしてソーラーカーを設計してきた。その経験を生かし、実際的な設計の要点についてを丹念にまとめている。そのカバー範囲も空力から電機系まで多方面にわたる。最初はあまり期待しないで購入したのだが、実物を手に取ると予想以上に内容が濃かった。学術的ではないものの、ソーラーカーを実際に製作する人にとっては、バイブルとなるだろう。
