Execellent Overview - Highly Recommend
This book is excellent! It's exactly what I was looking for - an easy to read overview of the basics of CSS. I'm not new to programming, but am new to CSS. This book was perfect. My sister and I read it together since we're both learning CSS. We are having a blast! Hat's off to the author Jamie Chan! He writes very well - with just the right level of detail. After reading the book and doing the exercises, I have the overview I need that has given me a solid foundation that I can build upon. I'm really glad that I got this book. Planning on getting the SQL book and C## book by the same author.

CSS is much less intimidating now, thanks to this book
This guide to CSS is EXCELLENT! I appreciated the linear, step-by-step instructions, as well as the plain-English approach, which helped me grasp some of the positioning CSS concepts much more quickly. As a concrete example, I struggled to understand relative / absolute positioning as well as the concept of floats for a few weeks, despite diligent efforts at research and reading about similar issues / answers posted on stack overflow. But after working with this book and the exercise on the chapter concerning positioning, it came together for me rather quickly. The exercises at the end of each chapter really help reinforce the content, and I found the book overall a tremendous value considering the kindle price!Note for the author: I'm looking forward to purchasing and reading your book on Python eventually, but should you decide to write a book on JavaScript, I would gladly purchase that, too!

A simple guid to transfer a webpage to the internet without using one of the transfer programs like FileZilla and a simple method
After having taken some crash courses in these programming languages und suffered some serious frustration by them, this course taught me in a very short time the basics, one needs to be "put into the picture" literally. I ONLY MISSED TWO THINGS I did not find - anywhere else - neither: A simple guid to transfer a webpage to the internet without using one of the transfer programs like FileZilla and a simple method, without taking recourse to one of the browsers to immediately show the effect of a change in the program on a separate page which fully simulates the appearance the webpage will have, once you connect it to the internet.

Not for beginners
Not for beginners. If I didn't have a CSS coach, this would have been way over my head.

This is great CSS training
I have been somewhat coding my own websites for several years. What I do is start out with some sort of template or other site and then figure out how to code the changes I want to make them unique. This can be frustrating at best when you aren't familiar enough with CSS so I finally bit the bullet and bought a book. I'm glad that I bought the right one because this one rocks! I don't think that I got through the entire book in one day but this made learning CSS so much easier than I thought it would be. There are numerous examples and illustrations included, which is how I learn the best. Also, there are end-of-chapter exercises and a bonus project included in the book. A great resource for CSS.

Excellent For Beginners and Coders Who Need A Refresher!
I have been doing a lot of HTML and CSS coding for a long time. All of it was self taught by viewing source code from html pages. I really wish I would have had a book like this. I am sure that my trial and error (mostly error) coding experience would have been less stressful. Everything you need to know about creating eye-catching Cascading Style Sheets is included in this quick and easy guide. The hands on coding exercises wonderfully compliment each chapter and make make learning so much easier. The first three chapters are dedicated to HTML and the rest to CSS. If you are new to programming or, like me, have forgotten more than you remember, this guide is fantastic and I could not recommend it any higher.

this is an excellent place to begin learning html.
this is the second book by the author that i've read. i bought it because the first was so well done. Chan is thorough and the text is well thought out and presented. these aren't notes from a class he/she attended or taught, it is a well thought out presentation of useful information providing the overview i needed. i will be working my way through the rest of his books with no worries about whether or not i have a foundation to develop from afterwards.
