Great book of everyday stories!
Greatest book for littles. Everyday stories. My kids enjoyed the stories and still remember the stories word by word and they are 30 & 32. Their children are now enjoying them. I'm a happy grandma that started a tradition of these stories.

We love this book
We love this book! My wife and I, along with the intended audience, our daughter who we've read it to since she was 3-4, loves it. It is the only book I've read that actually looks like the places it's talking about. What I mean, is that in most picture books (and I used to work 8 years in the children's dept of a library), usually you get a really generic looking airport or doctor's office or whatever, and it is the most abstract and non-descript depiction and is not like what you experience in real life at all. But this book really captures what an experience is like, and has been very helpful before our first airplane ride, going to the hospital, going to school, and the other experiences included in this book.

Great book for toddlers
My boys (age 3 and 5) love reading this book. My son who is 5 also reads it independently (now that it has been read to him so many times). They chose one or two of the stories a night. We were expecting a baby and they read the story "Having a Baby" so many times, but "Going to the Doctor" and "Going to the Dentist" were also favorites. I would recommend it to anyone with young kids. Also the little duck on each page is so fun to find.

Wonderful and sweet series for toddlers to preschool children
This is a sweet series of short children's stories that focus on first experiences. There is a visit to the hospital for a surgery, a new baby, a trip to the dentist, ride on an airplane, a vist to the dentist, and a few more I can't remember off the top of my head. Within each picture there is a little yellow duck to find. My toddler loves these stories and more importantly, I don't mind reading them over and over again. They explain what happens in each scenario in a nice matter-of-fact manner that a small child can understand.

Brilliant for preparing your toddler for everything!
Absolutely wonderful!!We will be moving to Europe and I needed a book for my 3-year old to prepare him for it.He loves the stories about "going on the airplane" and "moving house". He also wants to go to the dentist and the doctor now, since we read the stories. The pictures are cute, maybe a little outdated, but still very relevant. Lots to see and to talk about.

Great Stories, Wonderful Illustrations
This book is a wonderful compilation of all the first experiences that children have. The illustrations are amazing and full of so much detail that a child can take his time and really enjoy the book. The stories are written with the short sentences at the top, that the kids can read, and then longer sentences at the bottom of the page so the adult can add more detail to the story. The layout is wonderful and the stories are precious. I loved it!

Daughter Loves Every Story!!!
My 6 year old read this whole book over and over again. The detail in the illustrations captivates her Everytime. We also have the Farm Story Book. It's just so delightful, every page, every story 😊

I bought the whole book as it'll be useful to use in later life for different firsts
All first stories in one book. I bought this for my 17 month old to read to her before I have my second baby. I bought the whole book as it'll be useful to use in later life for different firsts. Plus I remember searching for the ducks when I was younger. The stories have enough detail.

Excellent.
Yet another fine book from Usborne, in a class of their own among publishers of children's books. This one introduces younger children in a most friendly yet informative way to the new experiences that await them. It will help to allay fears and apprehensions and engage the age group entertainingly. Impressive.

Lovely but outdated in places
Lovely book although some advice out dated (telling puppy off for urinating on the floor after the fact)

Comprehensive and so useful
This book contains most, if not all important new experiences that children will encounter and adults would otherwise find hard to explain. With lovely illustrations, including the 'find the duck' on each page, it's engaging for children and a relief for parents!

Haven't read them yet but look good. Not as big of book as farm tales ...
My 3year old loves the 'farm tales' books and we read them all the time so got these for him for Xmas. Haven't read them yet but look good. Not as big of book as farm tales book but looks like longer stories.
