Obscene gain, superb tone control, kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses
The GRUNGE is strictly for those--you know who you are--who want ultra-high-gain distortion. It delivers that extremely well, and it's a fun pedal. A few points: [1] Even on the lowest possible distortion (Gain) setting, the sound is severely distorted. So, the GRUNGE cannot give you a merely overdriven sound. Instead, on the lowest distortion setting, it distorts about as much as some distortion pedals I have do when set at maximum distortion. [2] The tone knobs (Low, High) are extremely effective. I use the GRUNGE with a Strat, and the Low knob can make even the Strat's single-coil bridge pickup sound extremely fat--indeed, massive. The Low knob is my favorite feature, since it makes it possible to beef up the sound immensely. You can make a Fender Strat sound like a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress with the GRUNGE. You have to be a bit careful with the High knob; set it too high and it'll give you painfully bright tones. When I use the GRUNGE, I set the Low knob at a higher setting than the High knob. [3] Given the great tone-control made possible by the two tone knobs, the GRUNGE is more versatile than I had expected. It can be used for heavy blues, metal, punk, and annoying everyone around you even more than you already do. [4] The case is very tough, like a BOSS pedal but a bit wider. [5] It comes with a battery (already installed) but not with an adaptor. However, it accepts typical pedal adaptors; no need to buy a special one for the GRUNGE. The one I use for Boss pedals works fine with the GRUNGE. I have zero regrets about buying this pedal, especially at the very reasonable price of about $50.

Great Product
I'm no expert in musical acessories, but the service was fast and cheap. The product I received sounds great and and came ready to use. I think it's pretty versatile with all the settings ranges. A welcome piece to any rocker's arsenal. Great sound!!!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!
I had been playing guitar for about two years when I realized that my dinky amp didn't quite give the power that I wanted. A friend suggested that I buy a distortion pedal - as they had found themselves in the same situation and found the perfect solution. So, I looked around for a long time, and finally decided on this. Boy did I make a good choice.First of all it's cheap. Second, you can get some SWEET sounds out of this. You can get some soft, snarly sounds with the dials cranked down, but when you need a boost, just turn it up and it will throw out some INSANE sounds. Third, the product itself is good quality; it's heavy, durable, and doesn't slide around. This will definitely hold up to the expected abuse. This pedal really is amazing. I am extremely pleased with what I got, and would recommend it 100% to anybody who wants to give their guitar a boost.

Meh..not that great
This pedal is well built, has very nice controls, but as far as the tone...it leaves alot to be desired. I'm not a boutique pedal guy or a gear snob by any means but I found this pedal to be very thin sounding with no fatness at all no matter how I dialed in the tone controls. If you like metal or hard core punk, this might be your pedal but I've heard alot better at similar prices. The distortion on the digitech Bad Monkey and Hot Rod Distortion pedals are much better. The hot rod distortion will take you where this pedal should, but with better tone and for much less money.

Not good
Not bad, but not good. Can't take any kind of a beating at all. My son used this for practice only and he started having problems after the first few months. Just over a year of use and it's dead. If you're looking for a distortion pedal, go with an MXR or Boss; much more durable. Decent effects, but lousy durability

Beat up not functional
I would put 0 stars but you have at least 1 star. But it look fine. But it never worked. No light. No sound, nothing. And its cost for used pedal. Its ridiculous. And now i got to go to ups or fed ex.

The 2nd best guitar distortion I ever owned
This pedal, among with the rocktron zombie, are my personal favs, which I consider must have for severe-metal-heads. While I like the rocktron zombie better because of my extreme metal playing and violin like solos, you may find this digitech grunge just enough for some serious s***. Check some videos at youtube, and you will see. At this price point, expectations may be low. But no way, this is by far one of the greatest distortions pedals around, its really too good to be true. Construction quality is excellent and sound is mind blowing. It will stay on my pedal board forever. Just next to my rocktron zombie. I love them. I can't live without them.
