Great Tools at a Great Price
This Symmons kit has all the tools necessary to repair all Temptrol faucets, both old and new. The most impressive feature of this kit is the very reasonable price for such high quality parts. Each piece is nicely machined, and very "heavy duty". I had been about to order one of the aftermarket combo tools, but I am very happy that I went with the Symmons brand kit. You will be happy if you buy it.

Work exactly as advertised
I replaced the Symmons Temptrol valve parts for two shower valves this summer. My research indicated that the Raven tool would be needed to extract the hot/cold seats so I bought it. Then I noticed a sticker on one of the Temptrol seat boxes that said the newer Symmons Extractor tool would be needed for the newer seats. So, not wanting to get stuck in the middle of a project with the wrong tool, I bought this. I had also heard horror stories about removing the seats so I hedged and also bought a pipe extractor in case the seats stripped. Anyway, this extractor tool worked perfectly. It removed all 4 fairly old seats without any difficulty at all. It's very heavy duty and solid. I breaks apart into a few parts because it does a few different extract/install jobs but you can keep it all together with Velcro strap and pin that runs though all the parts and keeps it all together. I should mention that while the box sticker had said this tool was needed for the newer seats it also works on the older seat. Very satisfied.

Works Perfectly
I used the tool to remove seats on a 30 year old Symmons tub and shower Temptrol. It worked perfectly. After making sure tool was fully seated, I applied steady pressure and the seat broke loose and unscrewed. Large seat was done first. The tool fits into tiny slots in the seat. But it worked fine. Smaller seat has square fitting and it also came loose easily. I used a socket wrench on the smaller one. I ran hot water thru the valve for a while thinking that might help soften and harden deposits. Not sure if that helped.

Great price for a specialty tool
For those complaining that it didn't come with a tool to remove diverter spindles, one word: PAPERCLIP. Just bend a small hook on a piece of wire or a paperclip, stick it down the hole until it hooks on something and pull it out. I think there is a special tool that the sell for this, but you really don't need it.Another tip, you can use an impact if you have a 3/4" or 19mm 12 point deep well socket. It will fit on both sides of cold seat removal tool. The cold seats are notorious for stripping, using an impact wrench can mitigate the risk of stripping them out, or at least that is the claim.
