KUHN RIKONCorn Zipper 6”, Yellow

My old corn zipper doesn't work half as well as this one by Kuhn Rikon. I've always like this brand, so decided to spend a little more and buy their corn zipper. This really works great and is very easy to use. Corn on the cob just doesn't work for me these days (gets in my teeth) and I prefer to have the corn off the cob. It's sharp and comes with a safety shield. Highly recommended!

This kitchen tool makes cutting corn off the cob a breeze it is super sharp and cuts easy it beats using a paring knife and is built to last a very long time.

I used this on raw corn to make creamed corn.It cuts easy and safer than using a knife but be careful not to push down too hard or go over the same spot twice or you will cut some of the hull that holds the kernels to the cob creating tough little chewy bits mixed in with the corn kernels.I recommend going 1/2 to 3/4 down on the kernels and then scraping the remaining kernel and milk with a knife edge again being careful not to scrape too aggressively.

Once I had a few practice ears, the corn zipper has become easy and fast to use. I am pleased with this product.

The electric fillet knife worked WAY easier as a way to remove the corn from the cobs. We did five dozen ears yesterday, and after trying this item on a few ears i realized the knife would be far faster and safer. I'll be giving this one away.

I used this for taking the kernels off of the cob in the fall when I freeze large batches of corn. It REALLY works well. Please note that you should buy a pair of cut resistant gloves to use with this zipper - it is very sharp (which works great to get the kernels off the cob). This is so much easier than using a knife to cut the kernels off the cob - I did a huge batch of corn in about half the time it takes me to cut the kernels off with a knife. It has a protective cover, don't throw this away. You wouldn't want this tool in your kitchen drawer without a cover, you might catch yourself on it. Also, be careful how you take the protector off - grab it by the outer edges, not in the middle of the protector or you could cut yourself. This washed up nicely in the dishwasher.

I bought my first Rikon Corn Zipper almost two years ago. Since them in self defense I have bought two more as gifts to ensure mine didn't vanish and added a second zipper to my collection. I pressure can, freeze and dehydrate around 500 ears of corn every year and believe me, if something doesn't work, it doesn't have a place in my kitchen. I have tried multiple zippers and pitched them after 10 minutes. When I saw this, it looked like it might actually work and gave it a whirl. It worked so great, my hubby can zip 3 full ears of corn faster than I can shuck and de-hair one...which is rather embarrassing..guess there is still a bit of city girl in me *lol* It is so easy to use and requires so little force my MIL who has moderate arthritis can help zip corn for the first time in years...and yes she tried to steal my zipper before I gifted her one! Both the kids can use it without whacking off the fingers and toes and do a respectable job. This is actually a zipper that works well, its quick and very easy to clean and comes in very handy if you have family members with dentures or braces! My original zipper has done over 750 ears and is still sharp. I would not use a dishwasher on this. Between harsh detergents, and the high temps, and the possibility of not drying completely in the cycle, the dishwasher has a bad habit of decreasing useful life of items like this.

I couldn't eat corn on the cob right off the cob. I rarely had a knife sharp enough to slice the corn off the cob properly and when I did try, it was always a mess. Then I discovered the Kuhn Rikon Corn Zipper....it works quickly, smoothly, with minimal mess.....I finally get to eat corn on the cob again!!!

Having bought this on spec, I was delighted to find out that it not only works, it works really well! The blade takes the entire kernel off the cob, tho angle and pressure are important. Highly recommend!

This works great be careful you use it the way they say very very sharp. My friend recommended this to me and I'm glad. She did works like a charm.

Easy to use. Works well. Always some mess when zipping corn, but much less than with knife, etc.Best tool I've seen for removing kernels from cob.
