Very effective and non-irritating; a great alternative to regular formula
This is my three week report. As the instructions state, it can take up to 3-6 months to see results on existing scars. I'm using the Mederma PM cream on the following areas:- Cheeks and temples for acne scars from 20 years ago- Bridge of nose for scar from dog bite from 30 years ago- Raised, purplish-red surgery scar on stomach from 1.5 years agoI've always wanted to use Mederma. When I was a teenager, my doctor told me he highly recommended it for my acne scars. It's a product that medical professionals have tested and it seems to be something that actually works. Unfortunately I always had a very bad reaction to it. Redness, painful itching and sensitivity. This is a known side effect that's listed on the label (but only happens with some people). I was never able to use it for more than a few applications before I had to stop. I tried several times throughout my teenage years and in my 20s.When I saw that Mederma made a thicker, concentrated night cream, I decided to give it another try. I'm very happy I did. I haven't had any negative reactions at all.Initial Impressions:So far I'm loving the cream. It's thick and spreads very easily, absorbs well and doesn't leave any residue or stains on my sheets. When I wake up in the morning, it's completely absorbed into my skin and doesn't appear greasy. This is by far the best consistency I've found in any night cream. I really like it. As others have stated, the jar is surprisingly small. You might be surprised, especially considering the price. But after three weeks of usage (and I slather it on liberally), the jar still looks mostly full, so I feel confident that this will last a while. The cream really does spread well, so you don't need to use a lot. I'm using more than I need to.Since it's only been three weeks, there aren't dramatic results. This is going to take some time and I understand that. But I did notice today in the mirror that my cheeks look a little smoother. There's on particular acne scar that looks like an indentation in my cheek and it's slightly smoother too.The only thing I don't like:There is one thing I don't like — the onion smell. It is intense. Really intense. Mederma has always used onion as part of their ingredients. Apparently that's one of the key ingredients that helps the skin heal, so I understand that it's a necessary and important ingredient. But wow. The smell in this is much stronger than it was in the regular, thinner, clear cream. The first time I used it, I put a heavily scented lotion under my nose just to block out the onion smell. (It didn't do much good.) I've adjusted to it and now it's tolerable, but when I wash my face in the morning, the smell rises to the surface as if it's leaking from my pores. Thankfully it goes away once my face is clean.Closing thoughts:Despite the onion smell, I am very pleased with Mederma PM. I'm happy that I haven't had any of the redness or itching I had with the regular formula and I feel confident that this is going to work for me. I'm committed to using it nightly and realize it takes a while to undo years of battle scars. Hey, that's part of getting older. We'll see what happens after a couple of months. So far, so good.

It looks like other moisturizers I’ve used for a night cream
Repeat customer of Mederma for several years. It really helps with reducing the appearance of my scars. I have a scar on my chin that I got hit in the face with a car door. After some time (2 months) using Mederma reduced the appearance of it significantly. The only thing is you have to be consistent on reapplying every night. I also use other Mederma products during the day time. The Mederma PM is cream based. It looks like other moisturizers I’ve used for a night cream. Except this helps reduce inflammation of scars. The cream is thick and goes on smoothly. I do not feel greasy. Soaks into the skin good.I also use it to reduce the look of acne scars. Having very pale fair skin, everything shows. Only use a thin layer and circular motions to rub into my skin softly. Absorbs nicely. Doesn’t clog my pores. I also use it on any other scar old or fairly new. I also use it on stretch marks. Reduced visibility of the marks. From experience you can’t just use it once and be done. Just be consistent and patient. Not a quick fix, and really most things aren’t. Takes time. I love Mederma. It’s my go to for scar repair creams. Finding the Pm night cream was additional plus. Prior was just using the Mederma Scar cream Plus. The only minor con is the packaging. Although beautiful (coming from graphic design) it is a waste. I think for the results it’s worth the money.Mederma PM Intensive Overnight Scar Cream 1.7 oz

Expensive but worth it if you have stubborn scars
I was hesitant to use Mederma even when my surgeon had recommended it several times prior to my purchase (( call me hard-headed )). I've recently had a laparotomy and have a 8 inch scar down my abdomen. See, I've had scarring issues all of my life- from acne or just being a Tomboy. My skin is medium toned and for some odd reason my scar tissue just ends up extremely dark. It even baffled my surgeon. So after the 3rd time he politely encouraged me to get Mederma I finally caved. I was expecting it to be a waste of money since, in my case, my scars were so drastically dark. To my surprise, Mederma lightened my scar to about 2 shades darker than my overall medium skin tone- which was a miracle in my case. I combined it with the usage of vitamin A & E oil and the results are getting better each day. It's even softened my scar... So even though my scar is slightly darker it feels like the rest of my skin. Now, I can't say for sure if I can attribute the softness to either the vitamin A&E oil or Mederma but the combination of both are truly worth it!

Worked like a charm!
As a general statement, I'm pretty skeptical of magic creams or similar treatments and in particular expensive ones. This however has delivered exactly as advertised and I would spend the money again in a heartbeat. I have been using it on a four inch scar on the front of my neck from anterior cervical fusion surgery in October and that scar has been dramatically reduced in lumpiness and notice-ability as a result. In fact, the scar now looks almost like a pencil mark on my neck whereas prior to using the cream it looked more like an un-smoothed slightly squiggly line of caulk. The color of my skin in that area has also blended together so discoloration is minimal as well. I started the cream a couple weeks post op and as described on the jar have used it almost every night. While it is certainly possible some or perhaps even all of the results would have occurred anyway through the healing process, I am very pleased with the results and like I said would absolutely spend the money again regardless of knowing for sure what the impact of the cream actually is. What I do know is I wasn't willing to wait and see and the before cream and after cream comparison of that scar is like night and day. May not work as well for everyone, but it sure worked great for me and I am grateful!

Excelente producto

Bad product
I have finished the product and see no results. Waste of money and smells bad too. I hated the scent of the cream but I thought it may work given the reviews but I haven’t seen any improvement.
