I feel like you can never have too many of these. Not much to say here. If you need to do any experimenting or repairs, you’ll want this to transmit and test your gear without sending out a signal and thus avoiding getting yelled at by the air police aka the 85 year old guy at the end of the block with the antenna farm in his back yard who shakes his fists at kids when he tells them to get off his lawn. I used this with a 25-watt mobile radio on my test bench. This is rated for 50W which is enough to cover 80% of what most casual hams are using for gear. It is well made, easy to connect, does not get hot and does its job flawlessly.

Sometimes you want to fiddle with your transceiver without actually sending out radio waves. An example would be in trying to get a very accurate measure of transmitting power. This dummy load is basically a big resistor in an even bigger heat sink. As far as your radio is concerned, it thinks the dummy load is a perfect antenna with a minimal swr.50 watts is enough to test most handheld transceivers in this manner, which is my plan for it. The only issue I have with it return loss graphs to know its upper power levels.

Buyer beware.
Unit failed "open" after the third time it was used. 10 watts, 902 Mhz. Attempted contacting Becen was futile. Buyer beware.

Seems to be decent quality - Only using 8 watts in, no problems
