What are the actual dimensions? The ones in the description are contradictory.

I measured it as 15½"w x 8½"h x 18¾"d.The dimensions you see for a lot of products online are often just the dimensions of the package the product comes in.  Kinda frustrating when you're trying to get meaningful info to make a buying decision.

Is this 1 gallon compressor enough to work  with  3'' nail air nailer?

Yes it will do 3 inch nails,like for diy projects @ home here & there,build dog house,shed. It will last awhile.But it will not last very long if your gonna drives lots of 3 inch nails every day,like daily use on M-F regular job. Would not recommend.

hows does it recharge

I am a DeWalt fan and I own just about every tool they make. However, this product was so bad, I had to send it back. For a 135, it should have more power. It doesn't. And, as far as your recharge question goes, it takes longer than some higher capacity units (Bostich and Porter Cable). Hope this helped.

In real world use..about how fast to air up 4 car tires (18") from 25psi to 35psi?  want to air up at home after off road trips.

If you set the output pressure gauge to 35 psi and inflate, it will take a while and the gauge really isn't accurate enough for tire pressure, but is plenty accurate for tool operation which is what it is designed for.  If you run output pressure up to 80 PSI or so and use an external pressure gauge, you will spend more time measuring and adjusting than you do filling. This is much quicker than the convenience store inflaters that run a pump instead of having an air reserve tank.
