Iron
This backdrop is not bad. It is cute and it will work great for what I need it for. What I don't like however are the squares that cover the surface because of how it was folded and packaged. I would suggest a light ironing of it to remove a many of the squares as possible. Only iron the back with light heat. Maybe with a bit of steam.
