Impressive little amp!
Scrap my previous review! This is an impressively good sounding amp, in every way! It's a little like a well tuned tripath amp, for bass. The eq settings work well with paper cone speakers. It powers 2x12" cabs just fine, with enough volume for anything short of live play. The sound of this amp, sounds pristine.Well balanced lows and highs! It produces a great tone out of the box, but add some bass, cut some mids, and add some treble, and a sweet slap tone is dialed in!The chorus helps with some melody-ing.The tone is great, but you'll only feel the bass, with the low cranked up, the master at max, and the gain set to hit just under distortion. The distortion is well managed. It's a soft distortion. Occasionally there are blips of hard distortion, but the amp intelligently seems to adjust so it won't happen again. My only complaint would be old school fingerstyle, rear pickup funk, it doesn't do.In fact, much like many class D amps, they aren't able to handle any mid boost at all!Dial the mids past 2, and the amp starts distorting. As long as the polarity is correct, this amp will work fine between 12V to 24V, 18V being exactly in the middle.Anything below 12V will reduce peak power handling, and anything below 10V will reduce volume. And below like 9 to 9.7V, it'll just cut out.Overall, this amp is phenomenal!I just wished they could create a same quality amplifier, with 10x the output wattage (if possible 250-300W per channel).Even if this amp had 2 channels, essentially doubling the output, it would have helped those who wished to run 2 cabs from it.

What cab simulator?
From the reviews I read, I expected a bit more power, and the idea of a built in cab simulator would be useful in the studio. It put out a bit of usable power using my 4 ohm 2x10 Cab (Eminence B102's 8 ohm), but I bought the amp to use w/ my 8 ohm 1x10 cab w/ horn (Celestion Pulse w/ PRV WG270ph). I figure it put out about 5W RMS. Not even loud enough for a personal monitor at band practice, and the only way to get volume out of it was to 10 the gain - too much distortion. As far as Cab Simulator, there is none, period. Not even a print out of amp settings to simulate a ? cabinet sound. Too little power for a little bass amp. If it was 20W RMS at 8 ohms, I think I could live with it. For $70 more, I'm going to try the TC 200BAM, that has a DI out to the PA.

great buy
honestly, i didn't want to buy an expensive head right out of the gate. i wanted something with positive reviews and on the cheap side. this product does the job.i don't simply plug and play. i have a Boss ME-50B multi-effects pedal (i highly recommend this piece) between bass and head, which i use as a kind of pre-amp. meaning i can raise the values on it and keep the head about halfway. still get a great tone with this configuration. furthermore, the chorus on the head is a nice touch. means i don't have to set a chorus on the ME-50B.for a cabinet i run it to a Hartke 4x10 stack. after screwing around with it and the ME-50B i finally have everything sounding good. to think that i get a great sounding tone from a piece of equipment in such a small, condensed head.i recommend this for anyone looking for a way of lightening your load when gigging/jamming.

As advertised
I needed something I could use to feed into a mixer for practicing with headphones and playing along with recordings. This did the trick. It is very well made and solid. A great piece of electronics for a good price. Highly recommend this if you need to practice quietly or just need a small amplifier.

worked well for 2 months then output suddenly stopped functioning
I very much enjoyed this product and would love to give a good review, but conking out less than 3 months of light use is not cool.

Down sized my practice rig. Still loud enough
Good volume for its size. No more lugging around a big head & cab. Fits in my bass case.

Great little amp
There really isn't anything to complain about. I have this hooked up to a gallien krueger 115 for quiet practice and it sounds great. It sounds so good that I'm actually using it as a preamp(fx out to fx in) for my larger 400 watt amp that I'm bypassing the preamp on. This has resulted in the same sound, just louder. This actually sounds decent when used as a guitar amp as well. The cab sim on the headphone out sounds good. You can get a decent variety of sounds out of this thing. It is easy to get a svt style or bassman type tone out of this thing. It was rattling things on the shelf when I turned it up, but it would have difficulties keeping up with a drummer or medium loud guitar. It would be nice to have a mid high knob, but it sounds great as it is.

Amazing
Even smaller than I imagined, incredible sound for bass, I originally tried it on a 50 watt 10 inch speaker and was impressed , then I tried it on a 15 " 350 watt speaker and was blown away. Incredible sound for 20 watts , very rich and good presence wit the active tone controls, I wish they they had these years ago before I ruined my back with heavy amps, this one is a treat. I tried it with guitar as well, it carries the higher frequencies very well and rich bottom end. The chorus is a nice treat on both. I'm glad I got this and recommend it to anyone who needs a portable amp that sounds really good. That said, the better the speaker, the better the amp sounds, it can drive the big ones with no problem.

Ideal practice tool
This little amp is perfect for learning new songs with. I like to play a song from my laptop into line in and play bass along with it through the input. Ideal for learning using headphones or speaker. 20 watts is enough power for for coffee shop accompanying acoustic players. I played a small bar (30 people capacity) just before covid and this would have done the job very well.It is a very rugged amp. i have dropped it a couple of times and you cannot hurt it. Still sound as good as day one. I have also used the send/return as a troubleshooting tool for other amps.Only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating is that headroom could be higher and when you eclipse the headroom the distortion is (to my ear) not that pleasant.

Cute practice amp head
Only 20 watts but such a tiny footprint, this is like pocket size.Perfect for small jams and practice.Gets pretty aggressive as the gain knob passes 1-2 o'clockSounds pretty sweet with a guitar too.

Bonne petite tête ampli
Satisfait. L amplificateur est branché avec un cabinet avec Hp 15 pouces. Utiliser dans home studio. Bonne sonorité et puissance pour mon utilisation. Le chorus sonne bien.
