8-cup stainless steel cafetiere
This is a review for the Meelio French press coffee maker, which is 8-cup size (almost 1 litre), not the small one that so many reviews here seem to be about.I bought this over 5 years ago, having had enough of the dangerous glass cafetieres (including a trip to A&E on one occasion). The downside of the double-walled stainless steel coffee press, I quickly discovered, is that I can't see how much coffee is left in it.However, the upsides outweigh this so greatly, that I have never looked back. Firstly, no more semi-detached digits during washing up. 👍 The stainless steel really is, and still looks as good as new. It came with a coffee scoop and two spare filters, but I have yet to need to replace the original stainless steel filter. The biggest plus though is that it keeps the coffee warm for ages, thanks to it's double-walled design. I can go back for a second coffee and it's still just as good as the first.Unfortunately, my coffee press suffered a camping-related incident, so I'm now looking to buy another. It's a shame it's not currently in stock, as I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.Coffee time! ☕

Get this instead of glass Cafetieres
Needed this after my last cafetiere cracked due to it being glass. Been using this for past year now and is still working a dream and came with multiple filters and a spoon which is still as good as it was new.Highly reccomend this instead of glass Cafetieres, coffee tastes great out of them too. Very easy to clean as there are no crevices for dirt to be stuck in.

Not 350 ml
Tring it for the first time as just arrived. Looks good. Works well. But going by the ml markings on the inside, the 350 ml mark is only about 3mm below the top edge, so no way can you fill it that high. I tried but when you put in the plunger and the top on it overflows. Estimating it only really will hold 320 ml. I got a smallish cup and a half. Will fill one regular (not huge) mug. For accuracy I decided to wash it out fill with water to the 350ml mark, put the plunger and lid on and after it overflowed, measured the amount that remained (on my accurate kitchen scale set to ml). 330 ml. That was without coffee added. I had put in 2 TBs, or 15ml each, and was a bit weak, 3 would be better. So you will probably only get 290ml to 300ml of actual coffee. That being said, the half cup that was left, came out really nice and hot, much better than the glass ones. Finally, I'd prefer a 500ml or 600ml one, to get a full 2nd cup. 800ml or 1000ml is a bit too big (for me, would rather wait a couple of hours and have another freshly made). They say to hand wash, which is a shame and not sure why given it is stainless steel. Hope this helps. Looks good and has a solid sturdy feel to it................. Quick update- I decided to measure the amount of coffee that actually comes out. Putting in 3 level scoops (tablespoons) of ground coffee and filling with the maximum amount of hot water I could without it overflowing when putting in the sieve plunger and the lid, out came 250ml of coffee. No more would drip out. Any extra was in the soaked grounds. So, this is good for 1 cup of coffee. The ideal size for this would be 600 ml so you could get 2 cups of coffee.

Great little cafetière
I really wanted a small cafetière. Using my larger one when it was just me was silly. Anyway this arrived same day delivery…. Amazing Amazon. I love it. It’s a dream to hold. Has a nice feel to it. Just below the top marker was perfect for a smaller mug. Any of my slightly larger mugs I’d go for the top marker. If you own a Sports Direct mug then you’re stuffed 😂Slightly disappointed it’s apparently not dishwasher proof. I guess that’s because it’s double walled? I’ll probably go for it one day as stainless steel comes out of the dishwasher so clean and shiny. With my boyfriend away building his cabin in the Bulgarian hills, I’ll be Billy No Mates for 2 more months using this cafetière lots !

Probably the best thing I have ever bought on Amazon
Let me start by stating the caveats to my review, before giving details. The product is made in China and whilst it seems sturdy, I have only used it for a couple of weeks on a daily basis.I broke my glass cafetiere, and my daughter recommended a metal one. Came quickly via Prime, and box contains spare filters and a whizzy little coffee measure with a clip to close open coffee bags. I prefer cafetiere coffee to the new trend in coffee pods. I find the coffee from pods lacks the bite of newly brewed coffee and they are vastly overpriced. If you buy your beans/ground coffee wisely, a mug of first rate coffee costs about 8-10p compared to about 20-30p from a pod. And you can throw the grounds onto your garden/composting.Unlike some comments, all the parts of this device fitted together perfectly and moved smoothly. I am happy to have the spare filters if it all goes wrong. It looks like it is European modern silverware despite its provenance and the design is fit for purpose. Obviously there is the risk, as with all budget Chinese goods, that it might not stand the test of time, but the welding looks good quality and the metal is robust enough. One good feature is the double wall of the pot, and this means the coffee does not go cold quickly. It has a 350ml capacity, which is enough for one generous mug of coffee or two smaller cups. The big deal for clumsy me is that it will not shatter when dropped: the fate of my last one. The metal does not impart any discernible taste to the coffee, and it cleans easily (to my lowish standards). I have used this on a daily basis for about three weeks. The only negative has been that when the plunger is fully down, it tamps the coffee, so that some swirling is needed to clear the grounds out.I am very pleased with this and would recommend.
