Writing stays clearly legible over time
After many years of using white plastic labels, and finding that the ink normally washes off or fades within a few months, I thought I would try these. That they look like ice lolly sticks is amusing. The pens provided are fine, but a bit the nib is a bit thin for my taste. And sharpies bleed a little into the wood, but not so much as to make the label hard to read. I am only a bit concerned that after months in the damp soil, you can start to see fungus building up on the stick (as the wood starts to decay, I suppose). So you may not want to reuse old labels year after year, as you might take fungus over to new seedlings. However, as they were cheap, I intend to throw the old ones onto the compost heap and buy some more. No more plastic labels. Ever.

Nice wooden labels
These wooden plant labels are a good size - bigger than a lollipop stick with plenty of room to write on. The pens are OK although they have a very fine point and are a bit scratchy to write with. A plus is that the body of the pens appear to be made of card rather than plastic making the product even more eco-friendly. What a pity then that the whole thing comes in a sturdy PLASTIC bag.Only time will tell how long these last without fading but, on the whole, I'm very pleased. Would have awarded 5* if not for the plastic packaging.

Look lovely but don't last
I used this product as plant labels (as they are described) in pots and in the ground and they looked lovely to begin with. But after a few weeks the part of the label pushed into the compost or soil rotted and the label broke in two. So not durable at all. I did wonder if they were lolly sticks that had been packaged up with pens and sold as plant labels. Also, the ink in the gel pens is indelible so the labels cannot be used for other plants. A nice idea but turned out to be completely impractical and not good value for money. I will have to replace with plastic ones which I will be able to re-use for many years.

Labels good, pens not sure.
Trying to cut down on plastic (who isn’t) so ordered a good supply of wooden plant labels, pleased with the quality of the labels but the pens are very thin and scratchy so may have to get some other pens.

A nice labelling system
These labels come with two gel pens because the pens do not last all that long. The labels are terrific though and do the job well. They seem capable of withstanding wet conditions in the plant pots and are easy to write on and read. I have now bought two lots because I am so pleased with them. 5-stars from me.

Does the job
I have recently had a new garden planted and I wanted to have plant labels which would take a permanent marker without fading. Time will tell how long they last but so far very pleased and I ordered a further 200. Delivery was very swift. I ordered them on Sunday afternoon and they took less than 24 hours to arrive. Simple but effective.

Alternative to plastic.
These are a good alternative to plastic. They are a bit large but it's possible to cut them in half. The drawback is that they won't last as long as plastic labels or heavier more expensive wooden ones, but they are reasonable value for hte money.
