Steer clear of the Backstore, otherwise the chair has great potential.
While this Human Touch Super Novo Massage Chair has great potential, I would be very cautious purchasing from the Backstore/vitality web. They have been dishonest in dealing with us, and from the looks of it many other customers in the comments section. They sold us a chair in Used-Like New (Open box contition). But it arrived with missing parts, broken mechanisim, nonfunctioning accessories, and was dirty among other problems. I spoke with Human Touch Customer Service several times, they were very helpful and said it sounds like the Backstore/Vitalityweb is mislabeling very used chairs as Used-Like New and had me check the hourse of usage on the chair - we found that there was over 120 hours of use on the chair as delivered. The backstore has done everything in their power to manipulate the return to get out of refunding us and we've had to file a complaint with Amazon to get refunded. Thankfully we have kept very detailed notes and pictures of our communications and the delivery/return shipping process to backup our side of the story because the Backstore representative keeps trying to blame everything on Human Touch. While that may be possible. It is the Backstore/vitalityweb's responsiblility as a seller to confirm and stand behind the products they sell and accept responsibility when mistakes happen if these are mistakes and not fraudulent sales tactics. They can work out their issues with Human Touch if they blame them on their own time and expense. Again, I recognize that their lower "used" prices are tempting, but unlike all of the other used products we've purchased on amazon, from our experience, I do not trust or recommend purchasing from the Backstore. Outside of our experience with them, I do think the Human Touch Super Novo chair has great potential especially for tall people. I am 6' 4" and though I wish it was even bigger, it was the best fitting chair i've ever sat in and most thereputic massage even with the problems it had. I will be looking for another one from a more honest vendor as soon as we finally get refunded.

Really helps!!!
I've only had this chair for a short time, but, I don't know how I lived without it. I had back surgery a few years ago and thou it did help I still have pain. After working out or cleaning the house I cannot wait to get into my new chair. I set it on sleep mode and I fall asleep many times. Beware, once your family and friends know about it,they visit more often. One of the best investments I ever made.

Could Have Been Great - but it isn't
I bought the chair from a local store several months ago rather than through Amazon, but wanted to share my review for others who may be considering this chair. Mechanically, it's a great massage chair and if configured properly, can give a fantastic massage. At 6' and 210 lbs, I can easily fit into it for both height and shoulder width, which was one of the features I was looking for (I've had other high end massage chairs that were just too small). The problem is the clumsy interface where I have to go through roughly 50 to 60 button clicks (on either the hand held remote or iPhone app) over several frustrating minutes to set up the chair with my preferences. Since there is no way to store your preferences, you have to repeat this every single time you use the chair (unless of course you are happy with the 10 minute store demo massage, which is the default that it goes to every time it powers on). It really is appalling that they would leave out this feature on a chair this expensive, and the only explanation I can think of is that the owners of this company and the people who designed the interface do not own a massage chair (or at least not a Super Novo) and in all likelihood have never used one. If you are hoping that the Alexa enabled feature that they heavily advertise will save you, don't hold your breath: you have to separately order the part online after you get the chair, and they initially say it will take 3 weeks, but when you place the order it comes back and says that due to "supply issues", the part isn't shipping "until further notice", which I think means "never". If they had put as much effort into designing the interface as they did designing the mechanics of this chair and creating their marketing materials, it would be phenomenal and probably the best chair on the market, but for the price they charge, there are better choices elsewhere.

Better than at first
Okay, so now we've gotten hold of them and we've gotten help. I think they have their phone set up to put you on hold when they are actually closed. There's a factory setting on the chair that you can only get to by going into the remote and holding a button down when you power on the chair. Ours was set to a 2/3 intensity. The customer service helped me change it to 1/3 and now the chair is tolerable and we all love it now.Original post: I can't get customer service to help you with this chair. I was on hold for two hours while I drove kids to music lessons and made dinner. The hold "music" was a robot repeating "Thank you for your call. Please continue to hold for the next available agent." Literally every five seconds.I tried calling again today and got sent to a robot trying to sell me a senior alert system, and by the time I got out of that and called back I got a message saying they're closed. I wrote on their FB page and got a poorly written message asking for my info and telling me they will send my info to customer service. So here's why we need customer service: THE CHAIR IS PAINFUL! On the lowest possible setting it squeezes the crap out of your legs. We are all different sizes and sensitivities in my family, and on the lowest setting, every single one of us can't handle the intense pressure on the legs. There's no apparent way to calibrate it, so either you suffer through the legs or stick to manual upper body. Sorry feet...you only get attention if your legs are in pain.Anyway...we've only had this chair for two days but we're really worried.
