Interesting look inside Coca-Cola
I had this book on my wish list for over a year and so finally decided to grab it. Since I work in the beverage industry with Coke as a close competitor, I’m always looking to learn about their inner workings. What amazed me the most was the way Neville worked his way to the top. Let’s just say a lot of hard work and little luck along the way. He’s humble enough to admit his mistakes but also modest in his successes. Overall a very interesting book and led me to watch a few YouTube videos on him as well. I especially align with his thoughts on Connected Capitalism.

A great story about a very successful professional journey
I started living in Atlanta in December 2010 after 10 years in Africa and 14 years in Asia as an international banker. The title of the book "Inside Coca-Cola: A CEO's life story of building the world's most popular brand" really caught my interest while browsing in a book store. I am happy that I bought the book because I found it entertaining, informative and inspiring. Mr.Isdell could not have dreamed at the start of his career at Coca-Cola that he would end up running the company. I identified with much of what he said about the challenges of moving the family around the world but I also recall wonderful experiences of different cultures and environments. The final chapter is one of the best because of the important message about the critical need for the corporate world to continue to partner with the communities in which their wealth is made on social and environmental matters. This message is often lost in a misunderstanding of the word "responsible" on both sides. This was terrific story-telling and I am delighted that Mr. Isdell continues to enjoy my native Barbados.

A current classic
Anyone would be skeptical of claims to have been the sole agent responsible for a corporate recovery, but Isdell is able to back up his statements. But that's not the main point of the book. Highly enjoyable and varied stories reinforce the importance of getting to know customers and establishing trust among individuals and companies. The greatest impact of the book might be Isdell's notion of corporate responsibility in establishing long-term, sustainable relationships--including relationships with the environment.

An interesting life journey
Having been a contemporary of the author in Northern Rhodesia I was fascinated by his journey from working for a local bottler in Central Africa to the top of the company. Some helpful insights into leadership as well as a good chapter at the end on corporate responsibility in the world and the viability of corporations and non- profits working together.

Surprisingly personal, interesting, and engaging. I could not put it down.
Although chosen as part of an M.B.A. research project, I found Neville Isdell's memoir engaging, easy to read, and an exceptionally enjoyable history of his rise through the ranks of Coca-Cola. Mr Isdell comes through the pages of this book leaving the reader with the impression of warmth, charm, and business success rooted in honesty, hard work, and a genuine belief in the value of people and "doing the right thing."

Great read!
This global experience is of great value today. Personal courage and conviction, adaptability, resourcefullness and respect of others and their traditions is how it all happened. Values and lessons to be learned from his experience and success.

Coca-Cola
I was very disappointed with this book. I had hoped to learn a balanced account of this company from its CEO but what came over was how wonderful he was and his wife and daughter.

Sequence of events but too many of them
The book is the CEO's memoir but does not seem to provide many lessons or take aways for the reader. It is also densely talking of people and events; which though are obvious for the author; but tough for the reader to keep a track of. It also gets repetitive beyond a point. The best part of the book was the last chapter.

Brief summary of the authors time working for Coca Cola
When i bought the book i was under the impression that it would be a business book which would detail a lot of internal workings of the company but that wasn't the case. The book is more like a personal biography with not a lot of insightful business content. Its a quick read and written on a broad range of subjects in the ex CEOs life, mainly in relation to coca cola. The only problem i had with the book was that it doesn't delve deep into any topic and it feels more like a summary of the events which took place in the authors time working for the company.
