Ximimark 2 Pcs L Button Key Ribbon Flex Cable Replacement Part for Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Controller Buttons Cable GAI

Worked great fixing a smashed-in L button. Our Nintendo Switch (1) got dropped and the left joycon’s L took the brunt of the fall. I tried to unbend the old switch, but no luck. This microswitch and ribbon cable were the perfect fit and fix. This also replaces the “minus” button and that’s working too (but requires a firm pressure). The 2-pack is a good deal, too. Not easy (tiny screws and ribbon cables!),, but not too hard, thanks to YouTube channel called “How to X” and their vid named “How to Fix L ZL R ZR buttons on Switch Joy-Con Controllers | Stuck Trigger Bumper Shoulder Repair”.

My son dropped his Switch and the L1 no longer worked on the Joy-Con. This replacement works perfectly and is priced right, especially for 2 pieces. I'm sure he'll do it again, lol. The arrows on the first photo shows where it dented the top of the metal around the button that the L1 depresses which in turn moved the soldered connections off of the ribbons on the PCB just below it. I tested the old button with a meter and it still had continuity but the connections were no longer making solid contact. The second picture shows the PCB pieces I removed from the original to use as a backer for the replacement as it was a little flimsy. It will however work fine without the backer. If you cut off the pieces shown from the old cable, get a pair of needle nose to hold them with, and use a sharp razor blade, it only takes a few minutes to scrape the old solder and the printed (burnt orange part) of the circuit board off. Then just lay those pieces under the new part when installing it and it makes it much more solid. Probably a little overkill but it had the backer to begin with so I used it since I had it.

Replacing this part fixed my L button issue and saved me from buying a new controller! However like others, said the “-“ button is now harder to push. Unsure if this is user error by too tight of a screw or an issue with the replacement part itself. I rarely use the “-“ anyway so not too much of an issue tbh.

Everything fits and everything worked. I’d recommend keeping the hard backing from the original “-“ pcb. I installed it as is but the “-“ button was very mushy and didn’t have great response. I then used the pcb backing from the original to reinforce it and that made it much better.

It works, wasnt too hard to install but you need a specific tool to do it (y000 screwdriver)

This replacement part works great if you're trying to get your L button to work, but unfortunately if you want both the L button and the - button to work, I'd try a different product. The L button and - button are connected to the same ribbon, so even though my - button was working fine, there's no way to keep it. That left me with either a great - button and no L, or an L button and a - button that would only work if you pressed super hard with your fingernail. Perhaps if you're savvy enough like some of the other reviewers who complained about the same thing, you'll be able to get it to work by sticking a small piece of plastic in there or something. Or maybe you really don't care about the - button and this will work for you. I'd prefer to get a replacement part that works for both the L button and the - button, which is what I found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q1KH9RL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. You only get 1 instead of 2, and it's $1 more, but I think it's worth it for something that actually works without modifications.

This replacement assemble fit perfectly. There were no issues sliding the end of the ribbon cable into the controller's connector and the locating holes fit over the pegs tightly. If you are looking at this and thinking something doesn't look right, you have to fold over the part with the L switch on it. The only negative is that the original assembly had hard board components where the buttons/switches are mounted. This replacement is just thin plastic material that the rest of the ribbon cable is made out of. It all installed right and works perfectly so I'm not taking any stars off - especially because the price is right!

Fixed the broken “L” button switch on my OEM remote!! The micro switch broke away from the board. As others have noted, the “-“ or “negative” input is mushy but does work. A fair tradeoff to fix the more important “L”
