4yourhome Replacement YDK Type 110v Volt Vacuum Motor Compatible with DC07 and DC14 Models

My 2002 Dyson DC07 had a Panasonic motor that stopped working. Another reviewer mentioned that he made this YDK motor fit in place of a Panasonic motor (thanks!). I could not find a new Panasonic motor, so I decided to order this one and try to make it fit. The price is great! The YDK motor height is the same, but the outer diameter is about 1/8" larger. The rubber piece on top of the old motor fit fine on the new motor. The rubber boot that the motor sits in had to be trimmed down to accommodate the larger outer diameter. First I trimmed down the lip that fit over the old motor, then used a Dremel tool to increase the diameter of the inside of the boot. Next, I trimmed down the ribs around the outside of the boot using a box cutter with a new blade. I got it to fit, and the motor works great! If I could not get it to fit, I was going to try and get a boot for a YDK motor. My DC07 is running like new - I have replaced the main hose, inner hose, roller brush, filters, and motor. I found that the factory original pre-motor filter works best. I had tried some 3rd party replacements, but they were too dense and had to be cleaned very often instead of every 6 months - they also caused the vacuum cleaner to sound like it was blocked all the time.

I used these to re-power a European spec. Miele C3 and a compact C1. The result was excellent suction. The motors do run a little warm, but have been operated continuously for 45 minutes without issue. Ball bearings are used on the motor shaft, and a thermal cutout is installed as well as a noise eliminating capacitor. The C3 is doing daily commercial duty.

Look at your existing motor before ordering this. My machine had a Panasonic motor and this simply would not work for it. I was unprepared to work on the rubber shoe to get this to fit my machine.

This is replacement motor for Dyson, perfect! I was so happy to save my mother the expense of a new Dyson by replacing the motor! Works like a charm, I recommend

this product is awsome!! The price is incredible and the item is WELL BUILT! I put this in my old shop vac with the burned out motor... now the thing will literally "suck the paint off the wall"! WOW!!! WHAT POWER!

This motor was easy to install and it seems as though my Dyson has the suction power like when it was new. I would definitely recommend this motor to any DC7 Dyson owner.

Used this to replace a motor in a DC07 I purchased in late 2001. Went in very easily, vacuum works like new. Previous motor had a failed thermocouple and would overheat after a few minutes of use. Suction seems very similar to the original motor. Gave it 4 stars as I have no idea on longevity, but so far, very pleased.
