BooyahPoppin' Pad Crasher Topwater Bass Fishing Hollow Body Frog Lure with Weedless Hooks

There is no question about it. These lures DRAW strikes like CRAZY. Booyah is definitely doing something right here. The only reason that I give these 4 stars instead of the full 5 is that the hooks are aligned in such a way that their 'weedlessness' affects their ability to set. On my first day out with one, I probably had 10-20 solid strikes with many taking the whole lure underwater. I couldn't set the hook on them for the life of me--I only pulled in 2 bass out of all the many strong strikes I had. That being said, I have purchased four pad crashers since my first poppin pad crasher was so successful in drawing hits--I have two poppin pad crashers and two pad crasher jr. frogs, and I love them. Doing some reading online gave me the solution. All one must do is bend the hooks slightly upwards/outwards so that they run parallel with the frogs body rather than being turned inwards/downwards. While this will get you stuck in the pads more often, it allows the hooks to penetrate the mouth of a bass MUCH more frequently. The hooks are VERY VERY strong, I suspect they must be either 3X or 4X strong hooks, so it will take some real effort and care to bend these hooks slightly, so be careful!Overall, to sum things up, an excellent product--without bending the hooks, they are nearly impossible to get caught up, even when casting into the thickest lily pad beds. They draw fish attention without a doubt and you will get strikes like crazy. I had a poor hookup ratio, personally, but have found that a small modification will trade some of the weedless character for a more reliably setting lure.

I loved this top water frog because it has great action. They also come in a very wide variety of colors which is great.

This year has been the year of the frog for me, with the majority on these frogs. Only issue I have had is some of the frogs have taken water on and sink rather easily. Bend the hooks up a little and your hook up ratios will be awesome!

Catches bass in the lily pads! Trim the tassles a bit as they are pretty long.

The first thing I noticed is that the hooks have a very small barb on it, so most likely you'll be losing a lot of fish, and i most certantly did.The second thing the hooks are turned downward so that hookups will be bad so you have to take a pair of pliers and bend the hook up a little bit so that it's at least straight across and not pointing down. Don't bend them too much or it will change the way the weedless works.The third thing is cut half of the tails off those rubber bands are too long and the fish will grab the rubber bands and not get the hooks.How long they will last when catching predator type fish I don't know yet as I've only used one of the five I bought a few times.Update:I loose a lot of fish because of the small barbs.I have to squeeze the water out of the lure every 2 cast.But the bass n pickeral do seem to love them

Even on days were you can't get the bass to even sniff anything else this frog will wake them up. This lure does everything you want a frog to do. Good color, weedless, sharp hooks, great action (walking or popping), and fantastic cast-ability.

Overview: Poppin Pad Crashers are my favourite top water bait for frogging on ponds and inlets. The skirt lengths are a little long out of the box, but after trimming them up the popping front creates a great profile in the water!Pros:- Shad Frog pattern stands out well in murkier waters- Great splash and action on top water- Double 3/0 hooks result in great hookup ratioCons:- NoneWould Recommend!

Best frog for the money. Hooks are good, bodies tough enough to last many fish. If you are comparing this to cheaper alternatives definitely buy the booyah. If you want to spend more there are several more durable frogs on the market (but that doesn't mean they catch any more fish).
