Beauty and the Beak: How Science, Technology, and a 3D-Printed Beak Rescued a Bald Eagle

I first saw the story of Beauty on my facebook page. The place where he was cared for is close to my home. I thought , "What a beautiful story for my great-grandchildren" and wonderful way for them to appreciate the beauties of nature around us and that people do care! So, I sent a copy to each of my great-grands and they have loved this book. Their moms and dads appreciate a good book and all for them have libraries for their children so this book was a great addition for learning about eagles and loving nature.

Can’t wait to read the stories it to the children at Eagle watch weekend at starved rock State Park.

Great book about Beauty the Eagle who had her beak shot off. Beautiful photographs in this nonfiction, picture book.. I like how there were multiple types of writing (i.e., Story written for my young readers, additional facts written at a higher level) to tell the whole story of Beauty.

This book is great for both children and adults. The Real pictures are beautiful and the book has so much information!

Great book to share with my Kindergarten classroom before we start using my 3D printer and to introduce different jobs. Highly recommend this book as either a read aloud to the littles, or for proficient readers to read on their own.

I thought I had bought a children's book, but I learned quite a lot about beak repair and regeneration from this little gem. I met the author during a photography foray into one of our wetlands.

I live in North Idaho and felt this book and story would be a great addition to our local library. Recently voted the "Best Small Town Library in America".
