Works great, if used right!
I've always wanted clear ice for my cocktails, especially the large balls found in upscale bars. So now I have some! But it took a bit of experimenting to get it right. Here's the deal:1. I used RO water both for its clarity and the fact that it's not under as much pressure as tap water (holding gases).2. It takes just about 800ml of water which I heat just a bit (about 100-110f) so that as the balls freeze from the top they won't be blocked by frozen water below. (If you heat too much, you'll need more than 24 hrs in the freezer or the bottom of the balls will be incomplete).3. As you put the unit in the freezer, make sure you still have water showing on top of the mould.Takes about 23-24hrs with a freezer at zero f. I store 6 balls in a quart ziploc bag in the freezer.EDIT: I"m now just using regular tap water right out of the faucet and the balls look great! No need to mess with preliminary fussing. However, I wish there was a way to get the leftover ice out of the unit quicker after I retrieve the balls. DON'T leave it in the freezer for more than 23-24 hours or it will be a hassle to remove the frozen block left in the bottom of the container. Set a timer.

Makes Clear ice balls
I’ll do the cons first: it only makes two balls at a time. Removing the cubes is a bit of a chore, makes me wonder if I am going to break this mold, but so far everything is fine. I now let it sit out for awhile before I attempt to remove the balls. The Pros, and why I chose this ice ball maker: it is making CLEAR ice balls for me. Clear Big Ice Balls. Has amazed a few guests already. After looking at many brands (and most sell for less) and watching reviews I settled on this and I am glad I did. It was worth the money. I wanted ice balls just like what the best bars have and I got it. Follow the directions.

Good Quality
Got a set of these for my husband 3-4 years ago. They finally got a hole or split in them and started leaking. But I think for the price, that’s pretty good. Got him the same set as a replacement and he’s very happy. Says they may have improved them from the original purchase. Love these in cosmopolitans and other fancy drinks. No foul taste or smell. They don’t take up much room in the freezer.

Works like a charm
Especially if you ignore the instructions. LOL I've been using other ice ball trays and have had problems with both of them. The full silicone with 6 small balls leaks like a sieve and I've repurposed a storage box (shoebox sized) to keep the leaked water from freezing it to the bottom of the freezer. That one takes a second fill to make full ice balls, which is annoying. The 4 large balls tray is only half silicone, with a hard plastic base. It doesn't leak, but getting the top loose and the balls out is extremely difficult at times, since the silicone is flush with the rim on the base. I've had to hold it in front of my heater for minutes to loosen it enough to pry open. So I have the hard surface (storage box) to place them in and I just assemble them, place them in the box, and fill them directly from the sink. Any runoff is caught by the deep sides and they are mercifully easy to pop open. Haven't had to refill for a 2nd run at all, and I'm very pleased with their performance.

Works for making round ice. But not for making clear ice.
Rated them a 3 because they work for some situations. But they are not going to do what many people will want them to do.They would be good for making frozen deserts. Where the ice won't be clear and having a flat spot on from the mold being underfilled lets it sit on a plate. Or for freezing punch to make ice for a punch bowl. But if you're looking to make nice round clear ice balls for your home bar. These won't do that. The way the mold is constructed traps the air and impurities in the ice and separates the mold if completely filled.

Good value
We love these. They are relatively easy to fill and then remove the ice from. Dishwasher safe. Overall a great value.

Good product, use 1/3 cup of hot distilled water to fill
Before I bought these I read the reviews and they were hit or miss. Some people complained they spilled over, and didn’t work. This is simple science really, when water freezes it expands. The box says fill it 90% full, however there are no markings. So after some math and trial and error, I found 1/3 cup of distilled water was the perfect amount. In the two pictures I provided I filled one all the way to the top and one 1/3 cup full. The 1/3 cup full was perfect, the one all the way to the top overflowed and busted out. One last trick for really clear ice balls, heat the water, put the hot water in the molds, then place in freezer. Came out beautiful. Finally, I washed the molds really good before use and had zero issues with any silicone or plastic taste transference. Happy buying!!!

So far so good
The big ice cubes are truly a marvel; a wonder that mankind is destined to ponder for the ages. I’m so blessed to be a part of this discovery, this voyage into the unknown. Ice cubes. Big. Square. Cold drink. Okay.

Huge
I was looking for the largest cube I could find. These are great. Just remember to push from the bottom after loosening them.

There appear to be a couple of versions of these. I have the set with four separate (probably) silicone half-spheres.They work pretty wonderfully, after a few goes to get the amount they need to be under-filled. Since as water freezes it expands, you need it to be a bit less than fully filled when it went in the fridge. It's not a catastrophe if you fully fill it, since it tends to separate in the middle, rather than leak everywhere.Mainly I've been making ice balls from orange juice, which don't dilute orange juice as they melt.At some stage I plan to play about by letting them part freeze, carefully pierce the top and drain it and fill the core. Possible an orange juice shell with pieces of raspberry and cranberry juice in the core.Anyhow, it's a fun thing.

Impressive Product. Genius in it's Design. I Wanted to Buy Again.
Impressive Product. Genius in it's Design. I Wanted to Buy Again. Each ball was sealed in its own wrapping, once I opened the outer box packaging.Single separate moulding for each ice ball makes storing in the freezer simplistic and hassle free. You can store around other freezer items without taking up all the room.Careful amounts of water poured in before you reach the filled top, and not leaving in the freezer for too long, will ensure your finished Ice Ball doesn't resemble the upper part of female anatomy and will look smooth and rounder.Easy to remove the moulding with your finished Ice Ball. I highly recommend this product.

Great Product
I comment as a novice as have only made 2 ice balls so far. I read lots of reviews first which were helpful and purchased the individual moulds. So, based on my limited experience: 1. Using filtered water definitely helped make the ice a little clearer than using tap water but it was still opaque (which was fine). 2. On my first attempt I filled the mould to the top with water which, when frozen protruded into a little tail as the water expanded, on the 2nd attempt I didn't fill completely and just had a tiny lump. 3. It is extremely easy to pour the water into the mould, a funnel is not necessary. 4. It is VERY easy to get the ice out of the mould. 5. The ice balls last much longer than normal ice cubes.Overall. although still early days, I think it is a great product and a very easy to use. Thank you !

Highly recommend
Excellent product - makes beautiful spherical ice balls that melt much slower than cubes. The customer service from this company is brilliant, they sent updates and tips with ideas on how to use the ice ball maker for other interesting things like lollies, etc. Once you get the hang of using it, it's really easy and the product is well made with quality materials.
