Toilet seat is fine, installation was okay although there is abit of give in the toilet seat despite me tightening the fittings best i can.Unfortunately the hollow, plastic stoppers underneath the toilet seat caved in after barely 2/3 uses. Why they couldn’t be supplied with solid rubber like normal I don’t know!

Update: Amazon sent me a replacement one. Same issue. Grey. Would be a very nervous game going to the toilet- as if you leans forward it would come off the back hinges and you’d slide forward. Absolutely dreadful! Very dangerous. Do not buy the grey ones.Previous review: Absolutely rubbish. I am onto my second one. I thought maybe it was a seat issue so got a replacement one sent and still... falls off. Even if you’re sat on it and sit up straight, that motion with make it come out of the securing rods.I have the grey one and whether they were made in a different place to the white I don’t know. But it’s so utterly shocking how AWFUL this toilet seat is. I’m going to have to take it off and go without one until I get a new one as at least I won’t live in fear of falling of the seat mid use.If I was an older or elderly or disabled person using this I could have sued for the potential injury this could cause. I’m able to catch myself as I’m falling or the seat as it’s slipping of the toilet unit. But a older or less able person couldn’t.I really can’t stress how bad this feels or is when going to use the seat. And it’s not just when you sit on it. It’s when you lift the lid. So you have to push the seat away from the lid and hold that in place ready to sit. JOKE!!

I run a B&B in the country and so I tend to keep certain items in stock (toilet seats, shower heads and hoses etc) in case of emergency during the 'silly season'. This toilet seat was one such item and it was four months before I needed to open the box... when I did (having already spent a stupid amount of time sweating over the pan as I tried to remove a broken seat due to corroded hinges etc), it was extremely disappointing to then discover that I had been sent an item that had a large chip/dent in the seat and that one of the hinges was 'compromised' by way of a missing screw due to 'wood wear' [something you would only ever normally expect to see once a seat has been used for a duration of time].This product frankly wouldn’t have lasted five minutes in a domestic household, never mind a commercial one. Amazon were however excellent, and they immediately agreed to a refund without question and I was able to order an alternative. Thankfully, it was also during a quiet period and so there were no expectations for the customer to 'squat' in the interim until the replacement arrived.Other observations were: the seat is EXTREMELY heavy (with no soft-close function) and the fittings attached to the seat to protect the porcelain are made of cheap plastic (as opposed to standard rubber). Had it not gone straight from the packaging to the bin, I feel confident that it would have soon made its way into the refuse at any rate.It is however, a very stylish looking seat (ignoring the dent in my case) and assuming that it is easy to keep clean (I think it would be as the wood is finished in a gloss resin that would be ‘easy wipe’), it could be a good product with a few basic improvements (without having to particularly compromise on cost).

Easy to install. will work with most toilets as mounting brackets can be adjusted to suit any size.But watch out, this is quite plastic looking, very shiney gloss material. Fingerprints are very visible on it, especially in bathrooms with downlight in the ceiling. The packaging does not confirm anywhere on it that it is antibacterial, so the product title is false. The cover on the seat is solid enough that you can sit on it without it bowing (which is why I was replacing the old one). Not to bad, but not fantastic.

I was viewing the "AQUALONA Toilet Seat 'Soft Close' in the 'Dark Grey.' I didn't like the colour so I clicked the colour choices supplied with the product and selected a 'Light Grey' instead. Under the description, it still clearly stated that it is a 'Soft Close Toilet Seat' and within the 'answered questions', it had also been confirmed that it was a 'soft close'... the light grey toilet seat that I received, definitely isn't. (The manufacturer clearly has several different versions 'grouped together' and as such, the description, reviews and answered questions will not necessarily tally with the product you are buying.)That said, the light grey toilet seat that I received seems to be decent enough for the price. It looks smart and is coated with a shiny resin that I think will be easy to clean (which is just as well as it does show every single little mark to include fingerprints.) It was also very easy to fit. On the downside, it is an extremely heavy seat and the fittings beneath the seat that 'meet' the porcelain are made of a cheap plastic as opposed to the more customary rubber... as such, I am unconvinced at this stage as to the durability without the soft-close function (children and e.g. visitors won't know that they need to shut the seat gently and will end up inadvertently slamming it, which will put undue pressure on the cheap plastic fittings).

This toilet seat looks nice, but it is not safe to use. It is easy to install and i have the fixings as tight as they will go and yet it still moves with every use. I am 60 yrs old, so have bought a few toilet seats in my time and have never had this problem before. It's ok if you are young, fit and have good balance, otherwise I recommend you shop elsewhere.I notice from some of the other reviews that the grey ones in particular have this problem.
