InnoMax Genesis 800 Ultra Waveless Lumbar Support Waterbed Mattress, Queen

This is the first review that I am writing on Amazon.com. I am writing this review because the other reviewer rated it with only one star. I have never purchased anything with this low of a rating, which was making my decision to buy this product difficult. My last waterbed mattress, which lasted me over 25 years, had a leak in the corner and it couldn't be patched. It wasn't the InnoMax brand, but it appears it is no longer being manufactured or I would have reordered the same one. My old waterbed was leaking for a month before I finally decided to take a risk on this one.I decided to go with the Innomax Genesis 800 because of the 24 mil thickness of the vinyl and the good reviews of InnoMax Genesis 900. Both are 24 mil, however the Genesis 800 is $100.00 less. I have only had this mattress for a couple of weeks so I have no idea if this product will last as long as the one I purchased from American waterbed, but that is my hope by purchasing a heavier gauge mattress. It still has the vinyl smell to it, but that is starting to go away. This mattress is even more comfortable than my last one and I am super happy with my purchase. I hope this review is of some help.

I bought the waterbed based on my past experience. I have lived near an innomax retail store in the past and know the product. I called them as I have not had a water bed in over 10 years and received great support although I bought the product from an Amazon retailer. Innomax gave me about 20 minutes of their time to explain the differences in the product models and advice on how to make an informed selection based on my criteria.The firs one arrived with the box damaged by the shipping company. I had a replacement sent because it is a waterbed and there is no point in taking chances with a possible leak. The assembly and fill were a piece of cake. It took about 90 minutes to fill. Great sleep the first night. As it warms more to room temp it will get better. Very comfortable and very little motion. I was assured once it is burped after a few days it will move even less.Very happy to be back to a bed the forms to me and now I can sleep on my side and have no aches or back issues in the morning. I would recommend a quality waterbed to anyone who enjoys a good nights rest. We have noticed no odor after the first 3 hours of airing. I received a recommendation from Innomax on a mattress pad and it is nice as well.

Mattress went in fine, was as stated, there were no problems or leaks. I have had it for a couple of months and is better than the $1,000.00 dollar mattress that i bought a year ago and gave away (top brand too). I am very happy with it.

It has pretty good motion stop foam, but it is NOT wave-less, and it is too soft to feel the lumbar support. Probably should have tried the next one up in stiffness/motion stopping foam. Vinyl seems good quality, foam stays in place so far. Guess time will tell.

I wanted to give this bed several months before writing my review. I can now say that I am sorry I bought it. First of all, it is deeper than my frame (I had no ideas there were even different depths), so it’s hard to tell if it has the proper amount of water in it because they say it shouldn’t go too much above the edge of the frame. Second, everyone is right about the odor. It took at least 4 months to dissipate. In the meantime, I could not sleep on it. I kept the windows open and cleaned it with mild soap, but it didn’t help. Only time helped. Finally, in comparison to my last two waterbeds, this is the least waveless (although it was supposed to be the most). I don’t really mind that so much, except that it simply does not provide a good night’s sleep if two people are in the bed. And the worst part...I wake up with a backache every day. I hate to waste the money, water, and pollute the environment with all that plastic, but it’s going in the trash.
