Es hora de dormir/Time for Bed (Spanish and English Edition)

This has become my 18 month olds favorite bed time book (he was not fond of it at 12 months - I don't think he was ready for it then because he didn't understand most of the words then). The illustrations are beautiful (the artist has an excellent sense of composition), the words are loving, and it's so soothing to read it makes my husband and I sleepy as well. I like having the side by side translation. My toddler speaks English at home and Spanish at daycare. I hadn't spoken much Spanish around him because my Spanish grammar is poor, but once I started reading the book to him in Spanish he realized that mommy understands the language he speaks at daycare and the very next day he started asking for things from me in Spanish.

Bought as a gift and was told the translations were accurate and that it rhymed in both languages.

Translations great, contrasting colors and larger illustrations beautiful. Helpful notes in corner so you know what animal and its young are called, so you can make it simple for infants like mine with limited attention span. 9 mo old baby got super happy as soon as she saw it and even sat through most pages at first. Grateful for the thick board pages meant to last because can see it will be used for a while in slightly different ways, great for bedtime. Much better than expected quality for the price. Wonderful for bilingual family.

Love book in English. Adding Spanish only makes it better

My husband and I love this book and so does our 11-month old son. My husband is bilingual, he reads the Spanish translation and I read the English. Such a peaceful bedtime book!

a sweet book. the spanish doesn't exactly follow the english, but it's still cute. we have the full book (just english) and this board-book version seemed to cut off part of the pictures. it's fine, but the full size book's illustrations are so gorgeous that it's a shame they weren't fully included.

This is at least one of my few favorite children's books, and I love being able to have this book as my own for that reason, as well as to work on reading (and learning) spanish. I love the combination of the two.

I read it every night to my daughter, in English and Spanish and she loves it. This was my first bilingual book

La version originale en anglais est mélodieuse et juste parfait! C’est un de nos livres préférés ! L espagnol est ma langue maternelle et la traduction n’est pas poétique et n’arrive pas à être à l hauteur de la version originale. J aurais préféré même une traduction mot par mot que cette traduction qui n arrive pas à capter la magie de la version en anglais. Cependant la traduction en espagnol reste correcte et convenable pour introduire l espagnol aux chérubins!

Se lo leemos a nuestra hija desde los 9 meses. Ahora tiene más de 3 años y todavía le gusta que se lo leamos antes de ir a dormir.
