These Softdiscs have been a game changer for me! They’re comfortable, easy to insert, and surprisingly easy to remove once you get the hang of it. I have been using them for the last 4 years. The only thing to be mindful of is removing them carefully to avoid spills, but that’s true with any menstrual disc. I love that I can wear them comfortably throughout the day and almost forget they’re there. They provide reliable protection, let me stay active, and give me so much more confidence. If you’re new to menstrual discs, there’s a small learning curve, but it’s absolutely worth it. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient alternative to tampons.

I have been a cup user for about 2 years (I finally figured out how to use it during COVID when I didn't have to go anywhere). I like the cup, but it would catch me off guard with leaks entirely too often. While the cup worked better than pads or tampons, it needed constant emptying and sometimes I didn't know it wasn't inserted or sealed properly until it leaked. Since I was used to using a cup, I figured the switch to a disc would be an easy one...and it was even easier than expected! The box comes with 14 discs, which is exactly enough for a 7-day cycle, using 2 per day. I was a bit hesitant when I saw how much wider the disc was vs the cup and I honestly didn't see how it would be possible to not feel something that large. On the first day of my cycle, I inserted the disc while in the shower. It went in so easily that I was sure I did it incorrectly. It was so comfortable and I really didn't feel it at all, so I was really convinced that I did it wrong. I put on a pair of period panties as a backup since I was so positive that it was in wrong and I kept checking for leaks. To my surprise, it really was in correctly and it didn't leak! I read up on how to auto-empty and that has been an absolute game changer for me! Since my heavy days tend to be very heavy, the ability to auto-empty allows one disc to last throughout an entire work day on any day of my cycle with no concerns. Just 'bear down' to push down the pelvic floor and it allows just enough of the disc to push down from behind the pelvic bone to empty. I use one in the morning when I get up and change it in the evening after my shower, which lasts me through the night. I do agree with some of the other reviews in that you need to be comfortable with 'self-exploration' in order to be OK with using a disc. Current cup users should have no issues but those switching from tampons or pads may feel a bit awkward at first. Also, each time I auto-empty, I always check to make sure the disc remains tucked behind the pelvic bone so I can continue the day leak-free. I love this product so much that I am now going to purchase a reusable disc and will never go back to pads or tampons (which never worked properly for me anyway). If you're considering a disc, definitely try this one!!! P.S. I definitely recommend changing this while in the shower unless your goal is to make the bathroom look like a crime scene. The removal process makes quite a mess!

I can’t beleive I overlooked this product for so many years, but am relieved that as a last resort I finally found it! I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun for my heavy, uncomfortable and temperamental periods. And EVERY one of them had a huge downside for me. The biggest downsides were leaking, pain inserting or taking out, or the worst one, causing a UTI or bladder irritation by the end :( I don’t know if I have a particularly sensitive vagina or an unusual cervix position, but I know that I always have problems no matter how careful I am and it was very depressing. Cups never fit quite right and hurt to take in out no matter what I tried (also pushed my bladder uncomfortablely), then would leak every time even after doing every suggestion I could find. Tampons I could feel and would hurt when hitting my changing cervix, not to mention bulging out at heavy times causing pain on my urethra, and completely dried me out by the end. Disposable pads were sweaty, stinky and no matter how ‘green’ would always cause irritation. I had finally just become dependent on cloth reusable pads, which were great for absorption and were the only thing that didn’t overly irritate...I was about to resign myself to them for life. The only things I didn’t like were the constant cleaning of them, feeling uncomfortable on hot days with a bulge in my underwear, and feeling gushing at times...I mean, I trusted them not to fail me but every woman still feels that twinge of fear that it might just keep going past the pad! I was about to try another brand of reusable cup when I saw these. I read a lot of info on them and liked that they sat more like a diaphragm then something in your canal, so I decided to give it a go. Insertion was a BREEZE compared to anything else and after tucked behind my pubic bone I couldn’t feel a thing, it was amazing!! The real test was how long it could hold up this way. I went to a museum with my family and we were walking everywhere for HOURS. I had a small reusable pad on just in case, this was my heaviest day and the cup was going to be put to the ultimate test. I had less cramping than normal (not sure if this was because of the cup or just my cycle) and I FORGOT I was wearing it! That never happens!! I was reminded finally after about 5-6 hours when I had to go to the bathroom. (I would have had 3 bathroom visits with a tampon in that same time!) There was absolutely NO leaking onto my backup pad, I would have just rinsed and reinserted but being in a public stall I just emptied what I could (the whole disc was filled btw) then changed to a new one. I had packed some medical gloves and just used one for easy cleanup and insertion...that is the best idea possible trust me. It is a little messy taking out but with the glove is no problem. I went the rest of the day without incident and then went to the beach the next day same thing. This is the first period in my life (no exaggeration) where I have felt free. Before, it just felt like something was always wrong and I was miserable just trying to prepare for the next mishap. I didn’t have to worry this period. No pain, no leaking, no irritation...I seriously have found my holy grail! If you have tried everything else with no success I strongly suggest giving these a try. I was at the end of my options and am SO glad I did as this is it! Ps- as others have suggested you can also use your muscles to empty the cup by bearing down while on the toilet then just using a finger to push the rim up behind your pubic bone again, this was so helpful in a public restroom when I didn’t have time one time to do the full change routine! As if it couldn’t be better!

Context: I have a copper iud and my period is pretty heavy because of it. It's 6-7 days with spotting before and after. 2nd-3rd days can be horrible blood bath and pads were always leaking on the side. I was fed up. I didn't choose cup because I didn't want suction while having iud (I don't understand why Amazon is asking me about suction power of suction free product.) This is a review after using a disc for the first time. <Product review> Pros: - It works: I had it in for 10hrs (dinner-next morning) and it only had a tiny spot. Since I was gonna be sleeping, I had a large pad on and expected it to leak. Surprisingly, it only had a thumbnail sized spot after flipping around 5-7 times while I was asleep. - Cleaner than pad leak: like I mentioned earlier, things leak when it gets heavy. I am used to cleaning up when it happens and I was fully ready to do the same. For this product, I only sacrificed one index finger and few toilet papers. I didn't have to wipe my entire inner thighs. Cons: - It's big: I think this particular disc was a bit bigger than my size. It felt like tampon; you know something's in there but it doesn't hurt. It can be a bit annoying when you move around and feel it every now and then. With that being said, I would definitely use it for 2nd-3rd days but I'll skip for other days until I buy smaller reusable disc. - Expect to sacrifice 1-2 fingers: It's inevitable. It will be covered in blood. That's the only way to take it out. However, you can still save your clothes and thighs if you use your assigned fingers wisely. (More in tips) Mixed: - Auto dump thing didn't work for me. It didn't leak at all when I went to bathroom before sleep. I wish auto dump would've worked but I think it's too big for me to work. I'm happy nothing leaked tho. Tips: I only have two tips at the moment, since it's my first time. It's for people who are still considering disc, first time user like me, and people struggling with cleanup. - Insertion: If you can touch between your cervix and bone with one finger during period, disc insertion is not too big of a deal. Try to find that out before purchasing and probably disregard this comment if you find your anatomy to be different from my description. If you can feel the back side of pubic bone, I pushed it 2-3 times just to be sure and it didn't leak until morning. - Taking it out: I pulled with one index finger. It took me 3 attempts before I could actually take it out. To avoid a huge mess, I took breaks and allowed blood to flow out during those attempts. Once I got it, I didn't immediately take it out; I pulled 1/3 of it out and waited for blood to flow out of it before taking the whole thing out. After that, I pinched the rim to keep it folded in half, then pulled out the entire thing. If you think of how you need to pinch for insertion, that's exactly what I did here. I didn't want any splashing so I planned everything out, since auto dump thing was not gonna happen in my case. I hope this long comment helped.

WOW. Okay, so I’ve always struggled with tampons. Even after years of wearing them, I still often found them uncomfortable and was highly conscious of them when I was wearing one. I also have a heavy flow, so I’d have to wear a backup pad to catch the inevitable leakage. And, I’m a bit of a hypochondriac, so TSS was always a fear. I’ve only been using these two days and I LOVE them. I started using them before my period fully started, just when it started peaking though. With tampons, this would be an issue. It’d be dry and uncomfortable. With this there was none of that. And people talk about a learning curve, but I found it extremely easy to insert. Maybe it’s because I watched the animated tutorial on the Flex (sister company) website? Also, it truly is virtually impossible to feel once inserted. Maybe a little pressure when in a new position or a little crinkle of the catch occasionally, but you really have to be looking for it. When I took it out at the end of the day (literally a full 12 hours later!!!), I expected very little to be in it because there had been 0 leakage except the forewarned dumping that happens while using the restroom, but no! My period had kicked in full force and my underwear was spotless! All on my first day and first application! Now, here is the one thing: taking it out isn’t uncomfortable or hard (for me), but it was messy. Because I’m so used to my tampons overfilling, this doesn’t bother me. Also, since they last 12 hours you’re usually going to be taking it out in your own private bathroom in the morning and at night, so it’s not like you’re gonna be caught red handed in a public restroom. I don’t get excited about products often, and especially not enough to write a public, unsolicited review, but I feel like these are gonna change my life. I feel like from now on I’m not going to have to dread my period and the anxiety that comes with tampons and pads and the potential for leaking and TTS. Also, the cost and excessive environmental damage they cause. I’m just so excited to keep using these and I literally want to tell every vagina-owning person I know about them, because maybe they’re like me and never could fully feel comfortable with a tampon. It sounds dramatic, but these are honestly freeing. If you’re even considering it, buy a pack and try them out! Also, I’m not currently sexually active so I can’t attest to that claim, but I’ll update my review if I ever do happen to test it, LOL. For reference: 19-year old girl. Never had children. Heavy periods. Light cramping.

Soooo... I bought these as a 43 year old woman who’s praying to go through menopause any day. (Hey... my sister and mom were both done by my age... it could happen! 🤞🏻) I didn’t buy these to try to get pregnant, and I didn’t buy these to try to have sex while I’m menstruating. I strictly bought these to make my period bearable. The older I get, the heavier it gets. 😣 The pros: I read you should practice before you actually NEED them. Here’s the deal... I ignore my cycle until it creeps up and bites me in the @ss unexpectedly. That’s just how I like it. But, it’s coming more frequent and angrier than ever before. All that to say, I hope every time is my last, so I didn’t ever practice with these guys because I’m in a state of denial that this shenanigans is still happening to me. (My kids are 18,19, & 19... I literally have no use for Aunt Flo anymore. I’m OVER it. These kids are... plenty to deal with.) Annnnyway... I didn’t practice, and yet I managed to get it placed properly the first go around (and every time after that) with no issues whatsoever. None. And, I’m told I’m “tilted”... whatever that means. Sure, the first time I was definitely checking on the hour every hour that nothing was going awry, and sure enough, nothing went awry. Hallelujah! That would have been a mess. All that to say, insertion for me was easy peasy, and it undoubtedly worked like a charm. After the initial paranoia that there’s no way I could have gotten it right on my first try, there was truly no worries. It collected all the things for hours on end, and there were no leaks. Yeehaw! Those first 10 hours were bliss. 10 hours and 1 minute after insertion, all the things went to h*ll. The cons: I’m not sure how you pull something down and out and still manage to keep it level. ??? Honestly, I’m not laying on the bed or the bathroom floor for this. I’m just not that person. It’s coming out over the toilet, or I’m not interested. Whatever. I digress. I guess what I’m trying to get at without being too terribly descriptive is that removing it is no freaking fun. Somehow, I feel like it is still suctioned to something up in there, and, as mentioned, pulling it out level is not realistic. Thus, the INSANE mess. 👀 I was NOT prepared the first time. Like... at ALL. I kinda just sat there and looked at my hand and looked at this device and thought, “what the heck do I do now???” The subsequent times I was more prepared, but it was no less messy. Geez Louise. The other con that I didn’t read about when I overthought and overanalyzed this $10 purchase for 8 days straight was that my lady business is like... raw from inserting and removing this thing for a couple days. Yes, it lasts for hours, so the insertion/removal isn’t happening all that often, but I guess my biz isn’t used to this fairly large plastic ring OR my finger(s) being shoved up there even twice in 24 hours. There’s a general level of discomfort on the exterior side of things after just 2-3 days use. I don’t know. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. The down-low: yep... it works as advertised and is incredibly easy to get in place. They just don’t advertise much about the removal blood bath, nor do they mention that you could get sore/raw from all the activity down there. Lol. (And, I actually do have a husband with a fairly active sex life. Maybe it’s muscle memory? I don’t know.) What I’m trying to say is that it will do as advertised, but there’s a couple things that aren’t advertised. Take that for what it’s worth. If you don’t want to take a shower each and every time you need to change this thing, and if you’re not keen on true crime scenes on your hands, this might not be for you. 🤷🏼‍♀️ My plan: because it works as advertised, I def plan to use these when I’m traveling long distances and convenience store bathrooms aren’t my jam. I would also use this at night or... when I’m on a boat for a long summer day?? (I don’t know... think about when changing a tampon would be incredibly inconvenient for several hours.) Otherwise, though, I guess I won’t be cancelling that Amazon subscription to my economy size box of tampons any time soon. To all the ladies praying for menopause as your period laughs in your face, I hope this helps! I’d probably say to give it a whirl... you never know. I’ve read you can perfect the removal process after a few cycles, so I’m gonna keep trying. Maybe I’ll report back in a couple months. Maybe. Or maybe my prayers will be answered, and I’ll be done, done, DONE in a couple months! Only time will tell!

The first time after I inserted this, I felt like I was going to throw up. But I hung in there and I don't know if I got the hang of inserting it better over the next few times (probably somewhat), or if my sensitive body adjusted to the feeling of having something sitting there over the next few hours. I do likely have endometriosis (unconfirmed but that's coming from my gynaecologist and I have a family history of endo on my dad's side as well), so that may have contributed to the weird/pukey feeling. I was very on the fence about trying these as I wasn't sure if these would work for me due to my weird internal shape and other issues but I'm so happy to report that they did and I wanted to leave a review to help others with the same questions. I have a tilted cervix (anteverted uterus) as well as vaginismus and pelvic pain. I sometimes have trouble/pain inserting even a slender tampon, and tampons also make my cramps worse so I have been trying to get away from them (as well as disposable period products more generally for any environmental reasons). Plus, as most of my period is huge clots (at least for the first couple of days), tampons just do not work well for me and I feel that they actually make my bloating worse also. I actually felt like my cramps were not so severe with this product as they are sometimes with pads or tampons, but it could have just been the case where that cycle was not as bad. I had tried Bambody period underwear and loved it (highly recommend), but I was getting sick of the mess and having to change underwear several times per day on my heavy days. The period underwear is also reasonably practical while at home (which I was full-time during Covid anyway), but not so much when I go back to in-person engineering college. I had really wanted to try a menstrual cup for a while but was hesitant due to the high price points (particularly for the “specialised fit” options), and fear that they just wouldn't work for me. I liked that this was a lower-risk option financially (and I could offer the unused ones to a friend or donate them if they didn't work for me) so I decided to go for it with the idea that if this worked for me, maybe it would be a good stepping stone to try a "real" menstrual cup at some point (I'd been interested in the shape of the Ziggy Intima cup). I had also had read the review by JC re: using one disposable cup per cycle and liked that idea for both environmental and financial reasons, so I tried that and it worked very well for me (i.e., just use one as a regular menstrual cup for your entire cycle, rinsing as you are able, then throw it away at the end of your cycle). I actually *think* the “ring” part might be able to be recycled, so I was going to take either it apart and try that, or just wash the whole thing with soap and water and put it in the plastics bin as I believe it is all plastic. While this doesn’t help me get away from disposable period products 100%, it was something that actually worked well for me and my weird body and it is awesome to only have one disposable product per cycle as opposed to a bunch! A couple of notes for people with really tilted cervixes: The "cup" part may not expand based on your shape and therefore may not collect as much fluid as reported or last quite as long with no emptying. I tried inserting a few different ways but I could never get the pouch to expand for me. For me that wasn’t really a huge issue though, as on my heavy days I am constantly running to the bathroom anyway so I can just “bear down” a little to empty the excess every few hours. I also never had any issues with it leaking overnight, although I would definitely use a backup method to be safe. A couple of notes for people with vaginismus/tight perineal muscles: If you can’t insert a tampon at all, this product might not work for you, but it also might. I still found it slightly painful to insert, but less so than a tampon and I think it slides a little easier, particularly if you can get the hang of it. It does look huge, but it squishes up quite nicely. If you are really on the fence, for most people $14 is a worthwhile risk to take so I would say just try it and if it doesn’t work, you probably didn’t lose too much by trying. Also, consider trying pelvic PT if you haven’t as it might help with some of your pelvic floor symptoms (including vaginismus, constantly feeling like you need to pee, or trouble pooping).

Okay. This is going to be TMI but let’s face it, it’s a period disc. This isn’t an air freshener or a pair of dice, so it stands that a review of this nature will be personal. I’m a 46 year old perimenopausal woman. After 40-ish my periods could be compared to the first “Nightmare on Elm Street” when Johnny Depp’s character got sucked into his bed only to be followed by a violent volcanic eruption of blood. I was bleeding through ultra tampons hourly. It’s worse now than when I was a teenage girl. Top it off with white chin hairs that I am forced to pluck on the daily; bleeding through my clothes like I’m once again that 14 year old girl new to periods - there are days when I am fueled by nothing but absolute unbridled rage. Anyways, on a whim a year ago I tried these. I will never go back to tampons. For starters - I practiced before I had my period. The risk of TSS is very low so I felt brave enough to do it and I didn’t leave them in long. Just enough to get somewhat familiar with positioning. These will not get lost in your body. It’s a vagina and a cervix. Not a portal to another dimension. Yet, I get the fear. Needless to say, there is a learning curve. Perhaps I’m a slow leaner but it took me a good 6-7 cycles before I felt like a grownup and called myself a converted disc user. Can you go 12 hours between changes? Sure. The auto-dumping does help. Do I go 12 hours? Not on my heavy days. I am lucky to do 3 hours, but that’s an improvement from the under one hour with the harpoon (ultra flow) tampons. So. If your periods are also an absolute crime scene narrated by that guy from the Forensic Files, go into this with the knowledge that you won’t always be one of those 12 hour girlies. Which is fine. It’s not the discs fault and it’s not yours either. I’ve had sex with one in but only when it’s the start or tail end of shark week. I can’t imagine it would be mess free on the heavy days and honestly having sex and my man fiddling down there is the last thing I want. I’m not putting down my ice cream for that malarkey. Being armed with wet wipes is also encouraged. It can get messy, but it’s never bothered me because it’s my body. Changing it in the shower is heavenly, but that took some practice. I have the flexibility of an oak tree so that also took some determination. Honestly though. If you’re on the fence, try it. If you’re scared, watch some YouTube videos. They are helpful. So far these discs have been my favorite. The size works well for me, and the disc is the perfect softness while still being efficient. I use one for my whole cycle and happily toss it at the end. The money savings is also lovely. Now, once they start making our clothes actual pockets that work - paired with the disc, we will become unstoppable.

Ich habe die Menstruationsdisc jetzt 2 Monatszyklen ausprobiert und bin begeistert. Ich habe voher Tampons Super+++ und Menstruationstassen benutzt, aber diese Disc verändern die Zeit und die Einschränkungen während der Periode um ein vielfaches. 1. Einsetzen klappte bei mir auf Anhieb. In der Mitte etwas zusammendrücken , einführen und hinter den Schambeinknochen klemmen. Sitz und passt. Ich habe keine Probleme gehabt und auch von der ersten Benutzung an nichts gespürt. 2. Tragedauer ist klasse - 12 Stunden und das passt auch. Beim Toilettengang muss diese Disc nicht jedes Mal entfernt werden. Frau kann sie direkt über der Toilette entleeren - indem wie beim Stuhlgang gedrückt wird. Klappt einwandfrei. Und unterwegs oder auf Arbeit keine Sauerrei. 3. Entfernen - simpel und schnell. Ja ist eine kleine Schweinerei - aber mit der Tasse war das ja auch nicht anders. Je öfter das praktiziert wird um so sicherer und sauberer wird die Angelegenheit. 4. Maximale Freiheit - Schwimmen, Sauna, Sport u.s.w. ohne Bändchen oder Angst vor dem "Auslaufen". 5. Kosten - sind wirklich teuer - kann man nicht schön reden - aber für diese Art der Unbeschwertheit und fast "vergessen" zahle ich diesen Preis. Für mich eine tolle und andere Art mit meiner starken Periode umgehen zu können.

I have menorrhagia, extreme bleeding, which is normally only barely helped by the biggest period cups on the market and pads the size of an adult diaper. Menstrual discs are by far the best brakes I have come across, they significantly slow down things so I can get to the bathroom in time in the mornings and not cause a flood during a sneeze. The first 2 days of my cycle I always always have to wear night time pads in addition to absolutely anything I put 'up there' because it will definitely leak, but that's a me-problem and not a product-problem. On day 3++ they are enough on their own so I can stop wearing pads. (I manually fully empty when on toilet on day 3 to avoid leakage) Love that they partially empty themselves when I go toilet so I don't have to empty manually every time, like I would have to do with a suction reliant device like a cup. I have used a different brand of disposable discs before and really loved those too, the only real difference would be that these have a slightly softer ring so I don't notice ANY discomfort on my bladder or urinary tract. I find them easy to both insert and take out, just hook a finger on the ring in the front and pull out. Compared to a tampon these things are a godsend; not once have I felt the occasional grueling pain of pulling an xxl tampon out, and not ever have I been worried about toxic shock or been grossed out about where that moist string has drifted off to. I wouldn't use a tampon again if I was paid to do so. These discs aren't exactly cheap, but I make a box last about a year with only using one disc per period, so I get a lot of value out of one pack. I have previously had a reusable disc that worked just as well, only issue was that I really didn't feel like I managed to get it properly cleaned between uses so it got discoloured, and I didn't want to carry it around in my bag as it was in a fairly large bright silicone case. The disposable one I can keep in my bag as they are quite small and don't really stand out. Highly recommend and will definitely be a repeat customer.
