The decorative front pieces are made out of cardboard. The "stainless steel" is actually foiled cardboard. Mine arrived with the edges bent so I could not even put the decorative pieces onto the unit. I thought about cutting out new pieces, but the pattern is a little bit tricky. Additionally, the bright white edges show anyway -- an ivory color would be nicer. The unit is very big about 2.5 times the size of an ordinary outlet. It is also too heavy for an outlet: when I pull on the cord it falls out of the socket unless I am very careful. The retractor button works well, but if I don't hang onto the cord it chips the paint off of my wall. This definitely does not work for an active family that will be plugging and unplugging devices. This is a very good idea, just poor quality and it needs a little more engineering.

This is an excellent unit if you don't want an extension cord laying on the floor, this is wall mount unit with 6 Outlets and the last Outlet it's a extension cord that extends out roughly 6 feet just enough to reach the couch for my laptop and phone charging it also has power surge protection with a button on the bottom just in case it trips. I did have problems in the beginning with installation everything is assemble straight out the box but the screw that came with the unit was too short to reach my outlet on the wall so I contacted xtendacord by email and they happily sent me a longer screw; everything fits snug now not wobbly or loose like before see pics for example of screw sizes. This unit is great for me it looks great on the wall.

Mirrored faceplate is just silverish cardboard. Additionally, extension cord outlet has a very low voltage capacity, so that when I try to use it with a high-wattage item like a small portable heater, its internal fuse blows after a few minutes. Easily reset by pushing a button on the device, but still makes it rather useless.The item is also rather large and gaudy, so rather than help to organize my outlet it really draws more attention to it. Don't think I will continue using this item.

Very cool concept. I bought two and we love the built in extension cord! The major drawback is that it is not quite balanced correctly and tends to fall out of some receptacles. Fix that and this is a five star product.

So far so good. I think this is a wonderful product. It has been used by myself and grandkids. We plug our smart phones into it and sit on the sofa while we do our thing and the phone stays fully charged. Great invention, maybe could use one with a couple more feet of extension cord.

I really like this product. Especially the retracting extension cord. Perfect for my kitchen with limited countertop and outlet space. It's a little bit wobbly when I'm trying to get the three pronged cords out of one of the sockets but overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

This was actually to large for the project I was working on it, But I kept it because it was made well and I figured I'd find a use for it in the future.

I wish the threaded mounting screw was longer. It doesn't reach the receptacle making the unit wobbly and not secure.

Looks great and works great. Highly recommend.
