Q: I used this on a jacket with very soft leather and the leather has a rough texture now. How do I condition the leather so that it's soft again?

Steps to help keep it soft when applying 1. Clean the effected areas with some rubbing alcohol applied to a soft cloth. 2. Place a small amount of the black leather color- rub onto a soft cloth and rub it into the worn areas on the leather in a circular motion. Don't place a thick layer of the color on the areas. Your first layer will not completely cover the wear but will create a good, thin base layer of color. 3. Dry the areas with a hair dryer. 4. Repeat step 2 and 3 with thin layers until worn areas are returned to black. 5. After color is totally dry, buff with a soft, dry cloth

Q: Once the dye has dried on the jacket, will it come off in the rain? Do I need to apply a waterproofing spray over the dyed jacket?

No, it did not come off when wet (rain/snow) but in my case some of the overly worn areas of the coat just needed some additional touching up and 2 oz just was not enough. I don't believe waterproofing spray is necessary.

Q: Does this work on steeting wheels?

Yes, but you should clean the steering wheel with rubbing alcohol first to remove as much of the hand oils as possible. Next, smooth any scratches out of the leather with some 400 grit sandpaper. Then apply the Color restorer. Start at the top and work your way down.

Q: Has anyone had this rub off on clothing through normal use? I see that after a week, it will still rub off with a damp paper towel.

Sorry to hear that. It didn't happen to me. After dying and drying, nothing came off during rubbing off with damp towel and applying leather protectant.
