Love the movie.

This is a great collection to have. "Shaft" (1971), "Shaft's Big Score" (1972), "Shaft In Africa" (1973) are entertaining and full of action from beginning to end. There is no denying that "Shaft" was #1, but "Shaft's Big Score" manages to have enough action to keep you interested. "Shaft In Africa" has a good story line, great location shots, as well as the lovely Vonnetta McGee.Despite what is sometimes said about these movies from the 70's not only did it keep a lot of Black actors employed, it jump started many actors' career. In addition, these movies managed to make Black characters believable heros and characters who didn't die before the credits came on. The characters also had a personal life with friends and a love life and were not marginalized as often times many Black characters were and are in blockbuster films. The buget may have been limited back then but these movies were like diamonds in the rough...well at least to me(lol).The CD comes on two discs with "Shaft" (disc 1 side A); "Shaft's Big Score"(disc 1 Side B) and "Shaft In Africa" (Disc 2). The sound is good and the overall quality of this 3 cd collection is very good. There is no doubt that after watching this you will see why John Shaft (Richard Roundtree) is one cool dude!!!

3 movies, never seen these before

"Hotter than Bond, Cooler than Bullit" was the tagline for the original flick. A cool as ice Private Investigator named John Shaft played with effortless charisma by the inimitable Richard Roundtree in his most famous role. For those of you cautious to buy this release let me just state that despite the full frame specs displayed on the back cover, all three are presented in wide screen. All with the funky trailers and the behind the scenes promo for the original. Shaft is no cop but he's no crook either, choosing to do what's right moreso than what's legal and getting down with the ladies in the downtime between nailing the bad guys. It's a shame we never got more shaft titles, save the decent reboot with his nephew played by Sam L. Jackson. These three flicks however clearly show who owns the role.

Je ne vais pas revenir dans mon commentaire sur les qualités artistiques de cette trilogie, les autres commentateurs s'en sont chargé, simplement que qualitativement on se trouve devant deux très bons polars urbains pour les deux premiers opus et une curiosité bien agréable à regarder pour le troisième, où le personnage principal, SHAFT, sort de son univers américain pour nous emmener en Afrique et en France, lors d'une enquête sur des trafiquants d'hommes. A noter dans ce troisième film quelques acteurs Français ainsi que le chef op.Ce que je voulais expliquer surtout, c'est que l'on trouve aussi dans ce coffret de 2 dvd (un double face pour les 2 premiers SHAFT), les pistes Françaises d'origine pour ceux qui seraient allergiques à la VO. et l'on aura aussi la bonne surprise de découvrir un bonus filmé dans le 1er SHAFT d'une dizaine de minutes qui vaut bien d'autres bonus plus longs et parfois "rasants". Une dizaine de minutes donc sur les préparatifs de deux scènes du film et leur finalisation ainsi qu'une séquence d'enregistrement musicale avec l'immense Isaac HAYES et sa troupe. Sans parler de la présence du réal Gordon PARKS, l'un des maitres de la "Blaxploitation". Le seul bémol c'est la VO pure, sans sous titrages de ce bonus, mais de toute façon, compréhensible quand même.Par contre, on oublie pas que c'est du zone 1 et qu'il faut donc un lecteur multizone ou dézoné...Bonnes séances...

Es war die erste Bestellung bei Amazon und es ist nicht meine erste Begegnung mit dem Internet, bin seit 1995 dabei.Auf die Lieferung habe ich über 2 Wochen gewartet, gut, akzeptiert. DVD geliefert und dann? Nichts läuft, falscher Ländercode. Das scheint ein Standardfehler zu sein. Im beiliegenden Reklamationsschein kann man diesen Punkt ankreuzen. Also alles eingepackt, nach GB geschickt (3,45 Euro) plus Verpackung. Und nun warte ich, und warte, und warte, und warte, und warte … schon Wochen, und warte …Und ich werde nicht weiter warten. Das war der erste und mit Sicherheit der letzte Kauf bei Amazon! Ich werde den Kaufpreis in den Wind schreibe, die Kosten für Rücksendung und Verpackung abschreiben.NIE WIEDER AMAZON!Ich werde sofort meinen Zugang löschen, denn ich arbeite nicht mit Firmen, die Stümper als Lieferanten haben.Ergebnis: Einmal Amazon und nie wieder Amazon!!!
