I've had these for less than a month and only used them for opening/closing the woodburner door and damper. As you can see from the photo, the decorative rubber and the so-called heat resistant material has burned away.Put the £9.99 to a more expensive less decorative but truly robust and heat-proof pair of gloves.

Read the great reviews and thought these were just the job for lifting my Webber BBQ Pizza stone off the BBQ. Sadly heat transference was about 15 secs and had to put the stone and carrier down quickly as it was too hot to hold.Lost why other reviews are polar opposite to mine.. sadly can not recommend at all.

I did not have a chance to try them on the barbecue yet, but as a test I placed the bottom of a very hot frying pan right on top of my hand (wearing this glove, of course). Even after leaving the pan there fore a couple of minutes I was still not feeling heat coming through - so full points for heat resistance.The material feels very soft inside and is comfortable to wear, and the non-slip silicone pattern makes it very easy to grip things securely with these gloves. Size wise they fit both my husband and me, despite him having much larger hands than me.

Brilliant gloves. I use one for holding things to serve from hot trays as the heat resistance is great for a long period of holding very hot items.I also use for my log stove, it's great for turning the dial when very hot and placing logs in.My one complaint is that they are man size, very large in hand size. Now I do have child like sized hands, but they are absolutely huge even on hubby's hands. It makes them harder to grasp things sadly. But still good.

I brought them to replace another pair that I brought from a cookshop, I had had them for years but they couldn't be machine washed so were getting a bit dirty. My old ones are still in the shop for £25. These were do much cheaper and I'm very impressed. Unlike my old pair they can be washed and can be worn on either hand. They are a little big for my hand but I was expecting that and I'm used to it so that doesn't bother me.

Great gloves work well. They seem to have been made as just one handed. But the more I have used them the more they have moulded to my hands. I use these with an oped fire for putting logs and coal on it. I will try it out in the summer on the BBQ. They allow me to put coal and wood on very hot fire and can't feel a thing. They work very well for a short time the gloves are near the heat. And the price was really good. Bargain.

Used them a couple of times since getting them. They are comfortable to wear. Can pickup the grates on my Weber Genesis to put in a smoker box. No issues with heat. I did however feel heat when I picked up a metal cooking tray that was sitting on the grill for an hour. Still. Happy overall and my kids think they look like superhero gloves!

Very strange fit. Designed for very big hands and fit is poor. Hard to tell left from right hand and no matter how you wear them they always feel upside down on your hand. Thumb junction digs in so never feels a snug fit. Never got to try them out in action
