It's hard but not that hard to put together
Everyone saying its so hard to put together never pushed the pieces in hard enough. There was another review that said you have to click in the pieces, it's true. You can see the slots have "teeth" in them. Once you hear that sound, you'll know it's in and not going anywhere. It does take elbow grease and you might think the wood will break but it doesn't. Just push it in line with the slots and you'll be fine. Took me about 20 min to assemble by myself

Pretty when it sits right, if you can put it together
TL;DR: lamp is pretty and whimsical, but absolutely a literal and metaphorical pain to put together. And once it is assembled, the lamp shade is prone to toppling to the side because it only balances poorly on the lamp stand.I loved the look of this lamp, and didn’t have a problem with the idea of putting it together — it’s obviously not a product that could be shipped fully assembled, or it would be prone to breaking during shipping. That’s fine. But when I tried to put it together? It’s straightforward and makes sense on paper, it shouldn’t be hard to do… but like others have said, these pieces don’t fit together properly unless you REALLY push them to the point you think you may (or actually do) break or chip/crack them. Once I’d figured that out and everything wasn’t just falling apart immediately, I had to wiggle, shove, pry out and try again. Over and over. And once you get to a certain point, it gets even harder because now you’re impeded by the other petals and trying not to break them as you try desperately to shove two ill-fitting slots in some thin, easy-to-snap pieces of wood together. I’m sure some of my pieces are only held together because they’re stuck, rather than because I got them in the exact right spot for them to properly fit together. And then you’ve got to be able to balance the “artichoke” while you reach down through the top of this pokey new lamp shade to put the bulb in the socket — because you certainly can’t do the bulb first, or you can’t put the shade on.It looks beautiful when it’s finally done and on, and the light level is good and it creates a nice little dappled pattern on the wall… until there’s a slight shake or something touches the stand ever-so-slightly and the “artichoke” topples to the side immediately, only kept from crashing to the floor by the bulb. Because there is NOTHING to hold the lamp shade in place on the lamp itself. It’s just balanced precariously on the lip of the bulb’s socket. It doesn’t fit snugly, or have some sort of clip or anything. Mine is, annoyingly, constantly tilting at an angle because the base that rests on that socket lip doesn’t even fit it properly.

Be patient and daring....
Before buying this, I read all the reviews and was concerned about the assembly. Well, I bought it anyway, mostly because I like the look and, because I enjoy assembling things. "How hard could it be?", I thought. So, I was excited to start the task of piecing it together. Didn't take long before I became so frustrated. As soon as I attached one section to another, the next one made the whole thing crash like a house of cards. UGH...This kept happening. I was seconds away from throwing it all against the wall when, I made one more attempt and heard the piece "snap" into place. Apparently you must not be afraid to apply some pressure, and hold the piece at just the right angle, in order to really make a connection. Up to that point I was afraid to do that for fear of breaking or snapping the thin wood. Luckily, that didn't happen. The core was finally secure. The leaves were next and with a little pressure they settled into a secure fit.. It took a long time to get it right but in the end I really like it.To be fair... it does say to make sure each piece fits "snuggly" however I think it should be more specific about pressing down hard enough to hear/feel a snap...snug is not enough. Better directions, please! The bulb that is supplied is bright and ,casts some nice shadows on the wall but not the ceiling. I may change it because I don't like how the the brightness of the clear glass shines though the "leaves" and into your eyes.Others have remarked that it looks cheap and is too lightweight. I didn't think so,..and I'm not trying to furnish a dorm room.I found the base to be heavy enough. Maybe if you have kids or dogs that could give it a good bump, then you might want to choose something else.In the end, I would say, it's a nice lamp but know what you are getting. Don't complain that you didn't know you had to build it.

Love this lamp
I waited months to buy this lamp. I finally did it. I received the package, well packaged for our Oregon rough delivery individuals. It took me about an hour to assemble and it’s beautiful. I love this lamp so much. It gives great light. I like my place bright and this is an amazing addition. Love, love, love this lamp! The leafs are a thin wood. So be a little careful assembling. Direction were incredibly easy to follow. I highly recommend this lamp. ❤️❤️

Painful to assemble
My wife had to assemble it, in her words: “the lamp is gorgeous once assembled, however it is not sturdy and the amount of work involved is not worth it. This is fully a DIY project. Some pieces will fit great, and you will hear a click when they are set, others don’t fit no matter how much you try to get the correct angle to push it in. As you place more and more pieces it is really hard to find a space to put your hand and counter push to fit the remaining pieces. The other problem was that as I would fit one piece, another one would come loose, so you have to constantly secure it again. We made sure the mid ring was as secure as possible to the pole, and still with a minor move the artichoke would wobble all around, even after securing it yet again once on the pole. The bulb sits pretty loose as well, but it lights up. It is a perfect piece for that spot, but I’m sure that with the slightest fall against the wall, the artichoke will come apart and I will have to start all over again. The manufacturer should try to send at least the main structure already built and secured (with small nails or wood glue), and have the center pole go all the way up to the larger ring to secure it as well, for stability, but is doesn’t so it sits unstable.”

Beautiful lamp
Beautiful stunning lamp, if you don’t mind the assembly part which is a bit challenging for the shade, I can at least guarantee you that you’ll love the end result!
