Kam Wah Mooncake - Durian (1 Yolk)

For those who have never eaten durian before, please try to eat some durian products in the supermarket first before you buy the durian mooncake. Durian is the most favorite fruit in Asia.I was skeptical with a negative review, but I was wrong. The cake was so good. 3rd box from this brand so far. If you can't deal with this flavor or smell, try the one with four different flavors in the box. I just finished the first box in a week, a second box arrived yesterday. Love moon cake from this brand.

This was perfect. Too good, I ate them in one day.

When I got them I immediately put them in the refrigerator, and tried to follow instructions on the best way to eat them. The moment I cut open one of the packs a rancid smell filled my kitchen, but I thought maybe it’s supposed to smell like that. Thinking back that was dumb. I told myself that I didn’t want to be one of those people that don’t try stuff, so I bit into it, and it was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Maybe I got a bad batch or something, but I will not buy them again.

I ordered the Mung Bean Paste (no yolk) about 1.5 weeks ago. It was fresh and delicious! My boys don’t like yolk so when I found out mooncake no yolk at Amazon I just took a chance and ordered. No regret! I ordered two more boxes on Friday and just got our orders an hour ago! Super fast super happy! We got one order of the Durian (no yolk). It’s good but sweeter than the Mung Bean no yolk ones. Our second box is another Mung Bean no yolk. Will order Kam Wah brand in the future.

Came expired, read the flavors carefully. Durian is a stinky fruit, and if it's not something you have had before like me I wouldn't try now.

I guess its difficult to cater for everyone taste especially a lot have no idea what Durian is and some find them stinky. I was from Malaysia originally so Durian is my favorite and the stinkier the better as they taste the best. So in my general opinion, the mooncakes paste is not too bad but definitely lack of durian flavor. Maybe the bakery try to reduce the distinctive durian flavor coz I read a lot of the reviews they thought the mooncakes were rotten. They probably need to do research before they place their order instead of complaining and write bad reviews. Just my opinion.

The moon cakes were fresh and tasted good. Buyers who said that the moon cakes smelled bad, they probably never smelled durian fruit before. If you do not know what durian smell like, that's what you may think, rotten food. I like this brand of moon cakes, I ordered 2 more, different flavors. With this price, to me it's worth the money.

Actually smells like durian and tastes good.
