Fabulous Product, Excellent Quality, I Highly Recommend It!
I absolutely love this product! This was the first time for me to use a "toner" at home. Schwarzkopf has so much helpful information on their website, with all the color swatches and help on how to pick out the right product, color, etc. for your needs, and info. on how to use the product etc. etc. I used this for some color correction issues. I had used a "neutral blonde" permanent Sassoon hair color to touch up some grays in one section of my hair, and while neutral is supposed to be neither warm nor cool toned, it turned my hair bright red. I used a color remover, ie. Color Oops, (two separate applications, one month apart) and could not fully get rid of that stubborn red tone. After a bit of research, I learned that all I needed was some toner with a blue/purple base to it to cancel out the red, and this is exactly what this did for me, I can hardly believe it, finally after 3 months, those pesky red tones are gone! It did not change the color of my hair, it literally just removed the red tones. Since I had a horrible experience with the Sassoon color, I did a "strand test" first this time around to see if it gave me the results I wanted, to see how l long I needed to process it etc. After it passed the strand test, I moved forward and used it on the rest of my hair (I applied it to dry hair but you can also apply it to towel dried hair.) Don't be frightened if you see this turn purple in the mixing bowl, it won't turn your hair purple. In the directions inside the packaging they say to only use this was their developer, but I used another brand's developer, volume 10, because it was more affordable and it worked out just fine. It also said to only process for 5-15 minutes on previously colored hair, but I ended up keeping it in for 50 minutes. I forgot to wrap my hair in plastic and keep it under the heat, so I added some aragon oil to my hair with the toner still in after about 20 minutes, wrapped it up, and then under the dryer for 20 minutes. For the last ten minutes I used a brush to pull the toner through the rest of my hair to get a nice even consistent color, then washed everything out in luke warm water and blow dried as usual. No damage or breakage to my hair, only a very slight burning sensation but I do have a sensitive scalp (this was most likely due to the developer and not the toner). The "gloss and shine" in the label didn't really reflect the final results I got in my case. My hair doesn't look shinier but this is an "ash blonde" tone which is supposed to be more matte anyways, so it was no big deal for me. All I cared about was getting rid of the red tones. If you plan on using this, the ratio of toner to developer is 1:1. I highly, highly, highly recommend that you spend time doing research on their website to learn everything you can before using any of their professional products for home use. I've been using this brand on my own for well over 15 years now and I am so happy with it. They have some fabulous new demi-permanent fashion colors under the "Igora Vibrance" product line, that wash out fully after 25-30 shampoos that I would love to try at some point after I get more feedback from reviews etc. This is a really fabulous company and I am so so so very happy its available through Amazon now. (To find the information on their website for this product, go to the upper right hand corner of the home page and click on the tab that says "For Hairdressers.")Updated: I finally did buy the Scharzkopf developer AND IT DOES MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH SHINE. Now that I've used this product with their developer, my hair looks shiny instead of dull and you can find it for a great price here on Amazon. It really does make a huge difference. Also, I don't know if they reformulated just their packaging for this product or the product itself but the last time I bought this color it came in new packaging and it was the first time I used it with their developer and it gave my hair a different tone than I was getting before. Not sure if that is due to using it with their developer or they reformulated this color.

Worth the extra cost...
I use this on the ends after I have applied the permanent color to the root. It's not smelly, and doesn't irritate my eyes like other, less costly, hair colors do. Like all reds, it will fade if not properly cared for, but even then it looks very nice. It covers the grey and gives me back the color I had as a young girl, and gives a nice shine. What more can you possibly want. I don't mind paying more than I would for a bottle of color at Sally's since it looks so shiny and healthy when I am done - not flat like cheaper brands. I can't afford for my hair dresser to color my hair - this way it at least looks like I did.
