Stockfisch 2

This is the first of the 3 Stockfisch DMM-CD/SACDs I got. If you're not familiar with the Stockfisch label, all of their music is acoustic guitar based with a variety of other instruments along for the ride. The style of music is probably best called modern folk. I have all five of their "Closer to the Music" sampler SACD discs. The best sounding digital you'll ever hear! Simply fantastic sound quality. And it's not just about the sound, but rather they highlight a stable of real artists who care about their craft, writing thoughtful songs. BTW...if you like bass....these are deep and tight anchoring as it were the sparkling clear guitars with vocals naturally front and center.Now on to this particular Stockfisch offering. If you do take the plunge and indulge in this disc know that what you will receive is more like a short hardback novel than anything resembling a normal CD package. The book explains in some detail how Stockfisch gets this disc to sound like an LP without the surface noise or occasional pops and clicks characteristic of that medium. Since I can compare the DMM discs with their regular SACDs I can report that the DMM discs really do sound more analog LPish. Not surprising really as they went to herculean efforts to get the sound there. On the first DMM disc, some of the deep bass was a bit over-blown compared to the regular SACDs. They seemed to have remedied that issue here.These discs are a bit pricey but they are at the pinnacle of sound quality available on physical media, with a strong stable of musicians playing beautiful folkish compositions!

Good sound quality like previous Vol.1, no special outstanding song, miss this if you doesn't like Vol.1

Es ist nicht nur die exzellente Klangqualität, es ist auch haptisch ein Genuss. Toll aufgemachtes Hartcover-Buch mit schönen Fotos der Interpreten.Sowas gibt's halt nicht als Download. Für den Preis jedem zu empfehlen.

Die Musik ist ja bekannt, die Qualität der Aufnahme exzellent! Im Vergleich mit den bekannten Aufnahmen ist der "analoge" Klang gut nachvollziehbar.

Mein Vincent CD-S6 spielt die CD nicht einmal ab. Zwei weitere Top Player ausprobiert... Naja, klingt nicht besser als eine herkömliche CD. Für mich verlorenens Geld.
