Like but not as much as the 09 version
We have been Tiger Woods PGA fans for several years. Have played 08, 09, 10 and now 11. I know it is made especially for golfers to get that real golfing feel but I'm a Wii golfer and a woman. We have played this for nearly a year. My husband and I have a weekly golf date and we keep scores. This has been very hard to learn. The slightest move or degree change affects your putting. It is very frustrating and then when I do get sponsorships, the levels don't earn me anything new at the pro shop. I can't even find some of the items. It doesn't make any sense to me. Oh, and for me the pro shop is a big thing. I like to go shopping. These clothes are terrible! The shorts look like diapers on. I am an artist and I could've done better. All in all we haven't even moved up to the next level. We just finished our first round of the golf courses. I do like that you get sponsorships from regular play and don't have to play the tournament to so that.I would like it if my husband and I could play tournaments together for sponsorships. We are wondering what the 2012 version is like and if we should just go ahead and make the jump.

Putting is a step backwards
I was stunned when EA Sports shut down their servers for TW09 without much, if any, of a warning. However, I enjoyed the on line play so much I bought 11 and pre-ordered 12 and have been using the former for about a month and the latter for two weeks now. Played with the standard settings, eleven is similar in play to the previous versions. It's one step backwards is the putting meter, which increases strength going downward instead of upwards which took some getting used to and the fact that there are no internal markers which makes hitting precise shots a lot more difficult. Perhaps this is more like real golf, but if I wanted it to be harder, I'd skip the meter altogether. Happily 12 has hash marks at 25, 50 and 75 percent so it is quite a bit easier to estimate strength. The other notable difference from previous versions and from 12 as well is the ease with which one can rise from level 1 amateur to level 25 legend. Playing a moderate amount (for me anyway) it only took a week, which seems ridiculously fast.Overall I like the game and the on line tournaments offer a nice addition to the head to head play, which is still offered. My only fear is that I will get up one morning and discover the servers have been sunsetted, though I hope that EA has learned that sending an e-mail to those actually using the service before it is discontinued will prevent a slew of angry letters.

Decent game
Im happy with the game overall, just some items here and there that the development team could have greatly improved; i do like the graphics a lot better, the last version I have is 2009. As for the seller I purchased the game from, "Area FiftyFun" they were good to work with, the USPS tracking history showed the ited in transit for two weeks. I contacted area FiftyFun and they called USPS up and it was hand delivered to me 5 hrs after I got my regular mail from the mailbox.

Serious fan and seriously disappointed! Stick to 2010.
It's really hard to explain but 2011 has a different feel than 2010. Not sure if it's the graphics, the handling, how responsive it is... I wish I had stuck with 2010. Yes, 2011 has alot more game modes but something changed and it's hard to pinpoint. I hate to say this but I almost had more fun playing Wii Sports Resort golf than 2011.Also, I've read everyone's review about the putt-putt mode on this game and alot of people love it. It's a joke. This is coming from a guy that loves these type of games and have purchased alot of them off WiiWare and purchased actual games of this type to play not only with my wife but with our kids. It's a joke. The mechanics are awful. I guess we expected it to be well made due to being 'EA Sports' and a Tiger Woods game but it was nothing like it. We had more fun playing some of the WiiWare games than this one.I should probably mention that if you like Frisbee golf .. Buy Wii Sports Resort. WAY more fun, handling feels alot more meatier and fluid.I'm just disappointed because it almost feels like they took 2010 and rushed 2011 out just to put something out.If your buying it for the golf, then get 2010 or even 2009. If you want the putt-putt feature, then there are better games out there for this. FOR Frisbee golf... Wii Resort hands down.I was looking forward to this game being the end all.... NOPE.

Much better than Nintendo Sports Club
While it takes a little bit to learn the user interface (the instructions are very limited and can easily confuse most people) we are learning to really like this game. I use it with the "chicken stick" (see my review). The "All-Play" mode (which is for beginners) is way too easy: not only does it show you where the ball is going (including bounce and roll off of drives), but it corrects your aim for you - you can't miss! The Standard mode (which I am still using (there are 3 higher swing difficulties) seems like a huge leap from the ALL-Play.We love the different courses, but the commentary gets very old after a while. Really, EA Sports, you couldn't have either different commentators or different scripts. Hearing the same comments again and again gets very old, considering that your worked so hard to give us all of those interesting golf courses and weather conditions.

A LOT MORE THAN JUST A VIDEO GAME.
GREAT GAME LOTS OF FUN TO PLAY, YOU CAN ACTUALLY MIMIC YOUR REAL GOLF SWING. A BIT SHORT ON HELP TO NAVIGATE THE PLATFORM. ITS A BIT OF A DISCOVER AS YOU PLAY. IT YOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE A DRIVING RANGE AND PUTTING GREEN TO PRACTICE. BUT MAYBE THEY ARE THERE I JUST HAVENT FOUND THEM YET.OVERALL GREAT BUY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Meets all my expectations.
We had previously borrowed the game from the public library, and knew we needed our own copy. We had been golfing using the game on Wii Sports Resort (neither of us are golfers) and wanted something more challenging. We wanted more courses, and there are 28 beautiful golf courses included on PGA tour, so that fits the bill. My daughter, who golfs, says the game is quite realistic. There are also lots of silly games that my 6-year-old grandson can play. We might even start golfing for real!
