Not the real thing
My African wife says that this palm oil is watered down with some other oil and I have been instructed to never buy it again.

this isn't good palm oil
This isn't pure palm oil, it has been mixed with god knows what and the color is a faded orange, not red like palm oil should be. The seller knew this and put this mixture into a red bottle so you'll think its red, until you open it...

Good but pricey and not 100% natural
I have been using this for some time now. My main problem are;1 - The price is ridiculously expensive. It is about $16 for 1L. I luckily just found another seller selling $9 for 1L.2 - Although I like the smell and consistency, this brand lacka quality/color and you end up using more than usual in beans or egusi for example to achieve that rich color.3 - This I just found out this morning when making comparison... How can you advertise as 100% natural if your ingredient list states palm oil and salt? Why did you add salt to the oil? That's all for now.

We like it - just don't wear white like I did lol
Pros: 1. Nice smell 2. Pretty color might be nice to add color to dishes 3. Tastes pleasant to us 4. Suppose to be healthyCons: 1. Can be messy due to color (wear an apron or junk clothes)This is my first time using red palm oil so I wasn't sure what to expect or use. The seller? (John W.) sends update emails asking how the product is and he gave me tips that helped me. 1. Make sure to shake as well as possible 2. Let oil warm up well before adding food. I was in a rush the first time I tried it so it left a chap stick feel on the roof of my mouth and lips. Second time I made sure the oil was well melted. It worked out great! Also tried it in a gluten, dairy and egg free chocolate cake for my daughter's birthday. It was delicious!

Tasty and healthy
I wanted this to make some Senegalese dishes I was interested in. It is tasty, and I understand that the red palm oil (as opposed to the more common clear palm oil) it is healthy, compared to other cooking oils. The taste is mild and slightly nutty, if you are wondering. It does add an orange color to anything cooked in it and it stains, so be careful about that.I read others' complaints about the black sediment that sinks to the bottom of the bottle-- this is the natural separation that occurs in unrefined products. It is some part of the palm fruit and is harmless and may even contain some nutritional value. (At least that's what I read in my cookbook.) Put the bottle in a bowl of warm water so it melts (as it does become semi-solid at room temp) and shake it up, and the black sediment will mix back into the oil. As the bottle sits, it will separate again, though, so will have to be mixed each time you use it.I haven't used other palm oils, so I can't compare, and I am not from Africa, so I can't say how authentic the taste is, but it tastes good to me, is produced in Africa from African palm trees, and is fair trade, according to the manufacturer.

Love the taste
Came on time. Love the taste. I made curry goat and used it so it was delicious and gave an great African taste to the dish. My only complaint is that I wish the lid had one of those sealed cover when you remove the cover for protection safety. It just made me a little uneasy that once you open the cover (which in my opinion wasn't locked completely) there is no sealed paper. Made me feel like someone could have easily injected something in it. For the people selling it please fix it for your own safety. The world is crazy and you don't want to be selling things that can easily be tempered with.

Got my moamba goove on!
I was craving chicken moamba like my mom used to make when I was a young white boy growing up in Angola. Then I found this palm oil! Now, my life has changed. I make moamba all the time: moamba for Easter, moamba for Valentine's Day, moamba for Christmas, I might even make moamba for Thanskgiving and tell my friends that it was a tradition in Angola. Some of them still ask me "why I was born in Africa" so they'll believe it. Buy this palm oil, it is good, it will change your life and make your friends think you are cool!

The Ultimate Oil
I love this stuff. Not only does it taste great, but it gives fried food a rich, golden color. I never found an oil that impressed me with flavor, but this certainly does. It's a little thick at room temperature, which is not a huge problem here in Hawaii, but if you wake up to a cold kitchen this oil may frustrate you. The solution I found was to fill an 8 ounce squeeze bottleĀ Easy Squeeze Plastic Condiment Bottles 8-ounce with Red Tip Cap - Set of 6 . This allows me to apply exactly the amount of oil I want. Curiously, a small amount of the paste-like oil seems to produce a larger amount of liquid oil.Enjoy
